Re-opening of the Flughagen airport in 2007 fuelled a large growth in visitor numbers from the UK and Germany in recent years. Prior to this
most tourism was domestic or from Holland and Sweden. As growth as been very recent, a high proportion of tourist facilities (hotels,
restaurants, etc.) are relatively new.
