Status: All of Cequels original features have been adapted to Office 2010 and 2013.

Installation Instructions:These instructions assume you have Microsoft Office 2010 or 2013 installed on
a PC with Microsoft Windows.

Installation with Administrative Privileges:First close Excel. Double click on the

Cequel_X_XX_X_admin.exe self-installation program. If you are logged into an administrative account, it
automatically installs Cequel into Excel. At this point open Excel.
If your account is not an administrative account, in Excel, on the ribbon go to:
File Options Add-Ins Go... Browse
Use the file selection window to choose Cequel.xlam, located at
C:\Praqsys\Cequel\Run_Time\Cequel.xlam
Open the Cequel tab, and double click on the Equilibrium Wizard. Cequel will prompt you for a license,
but if you are testing it out, the evaluation button should be available. This approach allows all users of
a PC to use Cequel.If you have a license, you should choose Activate Online, then Activate Cequel
Online. If your PC does not have access to the internet, you will need to use the Activate Manually
option (send an email to jfrench@praqsys.com with the codes provided).

Installation without Administrative Privileges: One caveat about this approach: every user who uses
Cequel on this PC under a different account name will need their own license. Usually only one person
uses a PC at a time, so this should be inconsequential in most cases.

Double click on the Cequel_noadmin.exe file and extract the files to a folder on your PC. We
recommend installing it at C:\, so others may access it if need be. Then, in Excel, on the ribbon, go to:
File Options Add-ins Go... Browse
Use the file selection window to choose Cequel.xlam, located at
C:\Praqsys\Cequel\Run_Time\Cequel.xlam.
Open the Cequel tab, and double click on the Equilibrium Wizard. Cequel will prompt you for a license,
but if you are testing it out, the evaluation button should be available.

Force Activation or Re-Activation of Application: Hold down the shift key, and double click on
C:\Praqsys\Cequel\Run_Time\helper.exe (admin version) or C:\Praqsys\Cequel\Run_Time\ASSIST.exe
(non-admin version).

TROUBLESHOOTING
Error 2, 4: When trying to activate a license, "Could not communicate with server"
Chose the Activate Manually selection, and then email the two codes to
jfrench@praqsys.com. you will receive back a third number that you may use to unlock the
software.
Error 42: Permissions problems
On the server, right click on //{Server Name}/Cequel/Run_Time/ASSIST.EXE, and choose to run it
as an administrator. Then in Excel try using the Equilibrium Wizard again.
Error 46: Microsoft Excel issue
Workaround: right click on Excel.exe, choose "run as administrator", and then in Excel use the
equilibrium wizard. This only has to be done once. Issue may reoccur if and when Microsoft
updates Microsoft office (repeat process). Waiting to hear from Microsoft for an official fix.

Upgrade from prior version: If upgrading from v2.04 or earlier, please exit Excel, then uninstall Cequel
first from Control Panel Programs and Features Cequel.
Notes for users of Cequel prior to version 2: Two new operations have been made available on
command: Update Cequel Function Calls and Change Cequel Functions to Values. The first is useful
for updating the functions if you receive a spreadsheet containing the Cequel function from someone
else. Cequel functions embedded in the spreadsheet, both in single cells and as array functions, are
updated. If you have similar Add-In functions that you would like updated, add them as a new line in
the LINKLIST.TXT file in your c:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Praqsys folder.
The second feature is helpful when you need to share a spreadsheet containing Cequel function calls
with people who dont have Cequel on their PC (but should). This button will replace all of your
workbooks cells that contain the Cequel function with (single cells and array functions) with the values
that would have been in the cells. If you have other functions that you would like to be converted to
values at the same time, add them as a new line in the UNLINKLIST.TXT file in your
c:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Praqsys folder.
