CLEANING
AND
REPLACING CONSUMABLES
CAUTION
Disconnect the scanner from power outlet
CAUTION
Allow the glass in the ADF to cool for at least three
minutes before cleaning it
Clean these components with the cloth moistened with V1 cleaner as well:
a.
chute roller
b.
pick arm
c.
feed rollers
d.
sheet guide
e.
glass flats
Gently close the ADF after allowing the ADF components to dry for a few
minutes.
REPLACING
THE
CONSUMABLES
Lift the brake roller set from the door. Note the orientation of the shiny
black roller on the left side of the compartment door.
Install the new brake roller set into the door with the shiny black roller on
the left.
Close the brake roller compartment door. If you encounter any resistance
in closing the door, ma ke sure tha t the bra ke roller set is insta lled
properly.
Close the ADF and resume scanner operation
To reset the Brake Roller Counter see your scanner manual or consult with
your computer software support department.
Replacing the Pick Rollers
Press the two blue buttons to open the ADF
Slide one pair of pick rollers to the right to remove it from the shaft and
replace it with the matching set from your kit. The smoother, smaller, set
of rollers are the first in the paper path, followed by the larger, treaded
rollers.
Make sure that the notch on the roller set lines up with the screw on the
sha ft of ea ch roller set. This a ssures tha t the rollers turn properly.
Close the Pick Roller compartment door. If the door doesnt completely
close and lie flat, check that the two sets of rollers are installed properly.
Close the ADF and resume scanner operation.
To reset the Pick Roller Counter see your scanner manual or consult with
your computer software support department.
