Roadside services include:

Towing Assistance - When towing is necessary, the Covered Vehicle will be towed to the nearest qualified service
facility or to any location requested by you.
Flat Tire Assistance - Service consists of the removal of the Covered Vehicles flat tire and its replacement with
the spare tire located with the Covered Vehicle.
Fuel, Oil, Fluid and Water Delivery Service - An emergency supply of fuel, oil, fluid and water will be delivered if
the Covered Vehicle is in immediate need. You must pay for the fuel or other fluid when it is delivered.
Lock-out Assistance - If your keys are locked inside the Covered Vehicle, assistance will be provided to gain
entry into the vehicle.
Battery Assistance - If battery failure occurs, a jump start will be provided to start your Covered Vehicle.

If you have purchased your vehicle through a dealership then they will perform all necessary registration tasks, but if
you have just bought or been gifted a car any other way you are expected to register as soon as possible.
If you have recently moved from another state you have sixty days of becoming an official resident to register the
vehicle.

ONLINE:
Maryland allows most people to renew online. In order to register online, please visit http://www.mva.maryland.gov/
Vehicle-Services/Registration/renew.htm. To make your renewal process easier, please have:

M aryland drivers license number

D ate of birth
Title number
Credit card or banking information to pay the required fees listed renewal notice.

Print your receipt out when the transaction has finished. This will be your temporary registration until your new one
arrives in the mail, which should arrive in about ten days.

IN PERSON:
To renew your registration in person please visit www.mva.maryland.gov/Hours-Locations/default.asp for a list of MVA
offices in the state of Maryland. Below is the necessary information you will need to bring in to the office:

Keep in mind some offices may not perform registration renewals. You will need to contact the office directly to find out.

BY MAIL:
If youre out of state or cant make it into an office, then Maryland allows you to renew
your registration by mail. Follow these easy steps to get this task done effortlessly:

Fill in any missing information on the renewal notice.

Take care of any emissions testing, if applicable.
M ake corrections or changes, if applicable.
Complete any additional certifications, if applicable.
M ail the required documents, renewal notice, and check or money order for pertinent
fees to the address on the envelope.

O n the check make sure to put your phone number and drivers license number.
Your registration certificate should arrive within ten days.

SELF-SERVICE KIOSK:
If you do not feel like waiting in line, MVA offices all have self-service kiosks, which will immediately release your new
registration certificate to you. You may need:

O wners, and if applicable co-owners information such as date of birth, social security
number, etc.
Credit card to pay required fees.

BY TELEPHONE:
If you cannot make it in to the MVA office and do not have the time to mail in the renewal notice or operate the online
application, Maryland allows you to renew by phone. You may only use this option if you information is correct on your
renewal notice and does not need any changes.

H ave an emissions test done if required on your renewal notice.

M ake sure to have your renewal registration notice on hand.
H ave a credit card to pay the required fee.
D ial 1-888-834-7344 and follow the instructions.

Your new registration should arrive within ten days.

You can apply for a duplicate registration online, or in person at your local MVA office, for $5.

In order to apply for a duplicate registration online you will need:

Maryland allows most people to change the address on their vehicles registration online by visiting http://www.mva.
maryland.gov/Vehicle-Services/Registration/. To make your replacement process easier, please have the following

To change the address on your vehicles registration by mail please fill out a Change of Address form, found at www.
mva.maryland.gov/Resources/VR-154.pdf.

In order to change the name on your registration in Maryland there are a few steps you must take first. To begin, if you are
changing your own name on the registration make sure to do so with the Social Security office before you make any attempts to
do so on the registration.
Visit http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/315/~/change-aname-on-a-social-security-card to learn more. From
here you have two options:

1. You can change the name on your drivers license and the name will automatically be
changed on your registration and title.

2. Or, you can change the name just on your title and registration by going to your local
MVA office with the following:

M arriage certificate
D ivorce decree
O r other court document denoting the name change
