Rubric

This rubric helps create an

example for the learner.
Seeing exactly the type of
criteria a rubric needs is
helpful to generate one on

your own.
Technology Plan Evaluation

ary/html/EDU0240a.html

This rubric is also another

great example of how to
create a rubric. I like this one
specifically because it is
wanting the evaluator to
determine how well the
information was executed on
different technology plans.

Technology Plan Evaluated:
Glynn County Schools, Georgia

Topic

Recommendations for Improvement

Goals

o Provides 6 different goals

o Plan lists each goal individually in a table, listing the
strategies, benchmark, evaluation, funding source/ estimated
amount, person responsible for each goal. Sometimes providing
more than one strategy, benchmark, evaluation, and funding source
for each goal.
o Goals are clearly stated and gives exactly how the goal
will be implemented, how they will know the goal is being reached,
what is funding the goal, and who is implementing the goal.

Professional
development

Plan shows that teachers will have 10+ hours of PD for new
technology. Specify the time in which teachers have to do their
mandatory hours. Is it yearly?
Have a list of all professional development opportunities
teachers will have available to them

An assessment
of
telecommunicat
ion services,
hardware,
software, and
other services
needed

Glynn county schools credits themselves with over 5000

computers throughout their 20 schools and academies.
Plan admits however that the computers are not adequate for
21st century learning and in need of an upgrade.
It was decided that fiber optics be installed to meet the
bandwidth demands of the system.

Accessibility of
technology
resources
(Americans with
Disabilities Act)

Plan states that 100% of students technology needs will be met

according to their IEP but does little to address the overarching
accessibility needs of all students.

Budget

Although budget information was given, very little exact

amounts were given. It could be more helpful to provide the exact
information. Only the funding sources were listed in most cases.

Ongoing
evaluation

One of Glynn Countys goals was to monitor the use of the

technology in the long term and they provided several ways or
formats in which to accomplish this task.
