Dear Sir,
This is with the reference to your requirement Please find enclosed herewith our
brief description and scheme Sewage Treatment Plant of capacity 60 KLD.
Design basis
Flow rate : 60 cum/day
Nature of wastewater : Combined waste water
Characteristics of inlet/outlet of STP :
Treatment scheme:
Screening, oil & grease removal , collection cum equalization and transfer of
wastewater to STP.
Primary treatment of waste water for removal of excess S.S.
Biological treatment of wastewater from SAFF technology.
Secondary clarification of biologically treated wastewater.
Dis-infection of treated water using sodium hypochlorite.
FONTUS/OFFER-ETP/1052
DT07 -09 - 2006.
STP shall be compact package type, smell free and shall consume low power.
We have proposed chemical treatment & biological treatment of wastewater
followed by filtration.
Please note that the suspended solids after the treatment shall be in a range
of 30-50 ppm which may produce hindrance to sprinkler system for
irrigation/horticulture. In this case, we would recommend a sand filtration
before reuse, which is included in our offer.
We have proposed collection cum equalization tank in RCC below the ground
level. All other tanks of STP in RCC can be built fully/partly above the ground
as required.
Our offer is exclusive of civil work, which includes tanks construction,
foundation of equipment, shedding/plant room for the equipment and related
MS work.
Diffused aeration system with fine bubble non-clog diffusers is proposed for
the biological oxidation of sewage instead of conventional surface aeration
from easy maintenance & energy conservation point of view. Air shall be used
in aeration tank and for sludge lifting and transfer from settling tank to
aeration tank or to sludge holding. Air will also be used in collection cum
equalization tank to avoid the smell problem and sedimentation of solids in to
the tank.
We have proposed metering dosing. Metering pump to have better control on
dosing rate and to avoid the wastage of chemical.
Screens (manually cleaned removable type) are proposed in SS construction
from corrosion resistance and longevity point of view.
All electro-mechanical equipments are proposed with standby units. Pumps,
blowers shall be operational in auto mode through level controllers, timers etc.
for easier operation.
Treatment Process:
(a) Screen Chamber: The sewage from the unit shall pass through the manually
cleaned SS – 304 Screen (02 no) with different pore sizes to remove suspended
materials from the sewage.
(b) Oil & Grease Trap: Here oil and grease present in the sewage will be trapped
and taken out manually. It will be done in a baffled tank put below the inward
water level.
FONTUS/OFFER-ETP/1052
DT07 -09 - 2006.
(c) Collection cum equalization Tank: The screened sewage shall be collected by
gravity into collection cum equalization tank; the sewage from this tank will be
lifted to next treatment unit via pumps. Pump shall be ON / OFF through water
level controller in auto mode. Air diffusion system shall be provided in this tank
for proper mixing of sewage to avoid the sedimentation of solids in to this tank as
well as to avoid septic conditions. The sewage from equalization tank will be
taken SAFF for Biological treatment.
(d) SAFF Reactor: A biological aerobic treatment is provided to achieve the desired
outlet parameters. In SAFF tank, PVC synthetic structured media is provided which
has large surface area / m3 of its volume. A Films of biomass (micro- organism will
be developed on the surface of this PVC media. Sewage when comes in contact with
biomass, get Oxidized/ consumed by micro- organisms within a specific retention
time leaving the clear sewage. Diffused aeration system shall be provided in SAFF
tank to maintain the aerobic conditions and to keep the micro – organisms in to a
complete mixed regime. The biologically treated sewage will then over flow to
secondary settling tank for the separation of biomass with clear supernatant.
(e) Settling tank : Tube settler is a normal hopper bottom tank as clarifier fitted with
PVC synthetic tubular media. The biomass will settle down at the bottom of the tank
and clear supernatant will overflow to treated water tank. The settled sludge at the
bottom will be removed by airlift arrangement and taken to Sludge Holding Tank for
disposal (or transferred to SAFF tank during the commissioning/start up to develop
the desired concentration of biomass)
(f) Tertiary Treatment: After the biological treatment, the treated effluent will be
collected into treated water collection tank. The treated effluent will then be fed to
Dual media filter & activated carbon filter for the further removal of residual
Suspended solids, BOD/COD, color, odor etc. The filtered clear effluent will then
re-used in secondary application as mentioned.
(g) Sludge handling: The primary & secondary sludge removed from tube settler
tank shall be taken on Sludge Holding tank and then pump to sludge drying bed.
(h) Sludge Drying Beds – Dried sludge can be use as manure after root through
sludge drying beds and supernatant can be taken beck in collection tank.
Scope of supply:
STP shall require the following RCC/brick work (which shall be beyond our
scope):
Oil & Greece removal chamber 1 no
Collection cum equalization tank 1no
Primary settling tank 1 no
SAFF reactor 1 no
Secondary settling tank 1 no
Chlorine contact tank 1 no
Filtered water storage tank 1 no
