Lau Kar-wing

Lau Kar Wing (simplied Chinese: ; traditional

1944) is a Hong Kong martial arts lm director, action
choreographer and actor.

Kar-wing recently worked alongside his brother, Karleung, as martial arts choreographer on the lm Drunken
Monkey, and was an uncredited martial arts advisor on

Kar-wing's possible re-emergence into the lm industry,
as he is reportedly tied to many of his brothers' future
projects.

Lau began learning kung fu in his early teens. He actually
began learning at his father's school, in secret. However,
when his older brother Lau Kar-Leung saw this, he began

Lau's brother also makes a living in the lm industry,
actor, director and action choreographer, Lau Karleung; as does Gordon Liu (aka Lau Kar-fai), who is
godson to Lau's parents.

Film career

Lau is father to TVB actor Lau Wing-kin.

Before becoming famous, Lau worked as an extra and
choreographer on the black & white Wong Fei-hung
lms, which starred Kwan Tak-hing as the titular hero.
Lau was given his start working under his father and
brother in these lms, and followed his brother to become
a stuntman and assistant choreographer.

Lau's nephew (the son of his older sister), Lau Karyung, is also an actor, action choreographer and director.

In the 1970s, Lau formed a partnership with Sammo
Hung and Karl Maka. The trio started their own lm
