Exercise 1-2 Software Installation

EXERCISE OBJECTIVE`
After completing this exercises, you should be able to:
1. Understand the features of WinProladder software.
2. Install the WinProladder software on your PC properly.
DISCUSSION
The WinProladder Software
The WinProladder is an Integrated Development Environment which helps
the user to develop control program easily and efficiently. The
WinProladder has the following features:
1. Windows based application program. All the operation follow the
convention of windows environment, easy for learning and
operating. No matter beginner or Pro can operate with great
efficient.
2. Adopts project concept, which category the whole task of program
to be developed with hierarchy tree. Through the visual effect the
user can see through the whole project at first glance. No matter at
program or maintenance stage all the jobs need to do can perform
with intuitive.
3. Provides the thoughtful and considerate entry method, incorporate
both the keyboard and mouse for entry device. No matter at field
site or office environment can operate with ease and efficiency.
4. Provides the connecting way of PLC and PC with varieties. Among
the connections, there are hard wire connection, Modem connection


and Internet connection, For every different connection

WinProladder provide a session name to associate the setting of the
communication parameters, such as port no., baud rate, IP address,
phone number, etc. With this feature can alleviate the user from the
burden of the memorizing.
To install the WinProladder software on your computer, follow the steps:
PROCEDURE
1. Insert the PLC-100 CD into your CD-ROM drive. Run the program
WPlad211-5713-ENU.EXE in the Edit Software-WinProLadder folder
on your PLC-100 CD. The WinProladder Setup process starts (Fig.12.1).

2. The Welcome window appears as shown in Fig. 1-2.2

3. Click NEXT to continue the WinProladder installation. The User
Information window appears as shown in Fig. 1-2.3.

4. Enter your name, company name and click NEXT to continue. The
Choose Destination Location window opens as shown in Fig. 1-2.4.

5. By default, the Setup program will install WinProladder software in
the C:\ProgramFiles\Fatek\WinProladder directory on your PC. If you
want to install to a different directory, BROWSE to designate a
directory. Click NEXT. The Select Program Folder window appears as
shown in Fig. 1-2.5.

6. Choose a program folder for the WinProladder software. This folder
is added to the Program folder of your Windows Start menu. The
default is Fatek PLC. Click NEXT. The Start Copying Files window
opens as shown in Fig. 1-2.6.

7. Click NEXT to begin the installation. The WinProladder software will
be installed on your computers directory selected, as shown in Fig.
1-2.7

8. Once the installation has completed, the Setup Complete window
opens as shown in Fig. 1-2.8.

9. Click FINISH. The WinProladder path is shown in Fig. 1-2.9

Close the window. To create a shortcut, select START >>
PROGRAMS >> FATEK PLC >> WINPROLADDER (Fig. 1-2.10).

Right click the WinProladder to open the Edit menu and select
SEND TO (Fig. 1-2.11).

Click DESKTOP (create shortcut). The New Shortcut dialog
appears as shown in Fig. 1-2.12.

Click OK to create the WinProladder shortcut on the desktop.
Once completed, the WinProladder icon appears on the desktop as

shown in Fig. 1-2.13.

Double click on the WinProladder icon to launch the
WinProladder. The WinProladder window opens as shown in Fig. 12.14. Up to now, you have installed the WinProladder software on
your computer.

Conclusion
Through this exercises, I was able to learn and understand the
features of WinProladder software. I was able to install the WinProladder
software on my PC properly. See below exercise result.

Close the window. To create a shortcut, select START >>
