EXCEL DRYER ANNOUNCES NEW SURFACE-MOUNTED,

ADA-COMPLIANT THINAIR HAND DRYER
New high-efficiency model features a speed and sound control, slimmer profile and uses 960 watts or
less
EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass.
Excel Dryer, Inc.
, manufacturer of the finest American made hand
dryers for over 50 years, featuring the high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR Hand Dryer,
introduces the new ThinAir Hand Dryer, a high-efficiency surface-mounted model that protrudes no
more than four inches from the wall making it ADA-Compliant. ThinAir dries hands in 15 seconds,*
operates on 960 watts and is a quick and easy retrofit solution for any facility looking to save money
and easily maintain a cleaner restroom.
The ThinAir Hand Dryer eliminates the need to recess the dryer into a restroom wall to achieve ADA
compliance, which is beneficial for facilities with walls that are difficult to modify, said Excel Dryer
Vice President of Marketing, William Gagnon. ThinAir has a lower cost of ownership than other hand
dryers, and is easier to install making it a cost effective and affordable option to facilities looking for
reliable performance and high efficiency.
ThinAir features a slimmer profile, adjustable speed and sound control, on/off heat, an antimicrobial
ABS cover and a washable pre-filter to extend the life of the unit. The speed and sound control can
adjust the operational sound level from 75 decibels down to 67 decibels, making it one of the quietest
dryers on the market. The on/off heat control brings the wattage down from 960 watts to as low as
333 watts with the heat turned off. As a sensor-activated, touch-free hand dryer, ThinAir reduces
touch points and decreases the risk of cross-contamination from users contacting potentially unclean
surfaces in a restroom. Optional MICROBAN Antimicrobial Wall Guards protect wall finishes from
excess water and are ideal for high-traffic restrooms. Wall Guards are both hygienic and easy to clean.
ThinAir hand dryers can be ordered in 110 to 240 volts in 60 Hz or 50 Hz for distribution worldwide.
Excel Dryer manufactures the only hand dryers that are Made in USA Certified, the first to be
GreenSpec Listed and also qualify for several LEED v4 Credits and Green Globes to meet corporate
or government sustainability goals.

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass.

Excel Dryer, Inc.
, manufacturer of the original, patented,
high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR Hand Dryer, is welcoming state Sen. Eric Lesser
(D-Longmeadow), co-chair of the state Joint Legislative Manufacturing Caucus, to tour the East
Longmeadow manufacturing facility Tuesday, Oct. 6. The tour of the Excel Dryer facility
coincides with state leaders kickoff of Manufacturing Month last week, which is intended to
highlight advancements in manufacturing and recognize local world-class manufacturing
companies like Excel Dryer. Lawmakers have scheduled a series of events throughout the state
each week of October. This week, legislators are focusing on manufacturing in western
Massachusetts, including the Pioneer Valley and the Berkshires.

An increase in high-tech manufacturing was one of Lessers top priorities during his senate
campaign in 2014. Earlier this year, he was chosen to lead the Joint Legislative Manufacturing
Caucus, a group of legislators who work to create opportunities for manufacturing in
Massachusetts.

There is no better place for state officials to mark Manufacturing Month than visiting one of our
regions most well-respected and well-known companies, Excel Dryer, said Lesser. We know
the path to middle class prosperity includes more jobs in manufacturing, and Excel Dryer
understands that too. That's why our visit is so important, both as a way to showcase our local
employers, and as a way for policymakers to learn more about the needs of this vital industry."

Last year, over 3,800 volunteer projects took place in communities around the world for the
third annual Green Apple Day of Service, generating school improvement projects in all 50
states and in 43 countries with the help of 36,000 volunteers.

Excel Dryer, based in East Longmeadow, has been manufacturing the finest American made
hand dryers for over 50 years, and revolutionized the industry by inventing the patented
XLERATOR Hand Dryer technology right in the heart of the Pioneer Valley. The XLERATOR is
the only hand dryer to be Made in USA Certified, following an extensive supply chain audit
that confirmed Excel Dryer and their suppliers passed detailed authentication by CERTIFIED,
Inc., the only independent, third-party certification source for Country of Origin Labeling
(COOL) in the world.

We welcome Sen. Lesser to tour our headquarters, where we manufacture, test and package
our products by hand, said Excel Dryer President, Denis Gagnon. Our longevity and the fact
that many of our employees have been with us for several decades is proof that the
manufacturing industry is alive and well in western Massachusetts. We are grateful for the
opportunity to share our success with our legislators.

Nearly 10 percent of all Massachusetts residents work in the manufacturing industry, according
to legislators. Excel Dryer employs nearly 50 people at their East Longmeadow headquarters.

contributing to other main objectives: reducing costs, labor and maintenance, while improving the
stadiums appearance and fan experience.
The XLERATOR hand dryers can be found in a number of other sporting arenas and stadiums around
the globe, including: Wembley Stadium in London; the 2010 FIFA World Cup stadiums in South Africa;
Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals; Dodger Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Dodgers;
and Gillette Stadium and Fenway Park in Excel Dryers home state of Massachusetts, home to the New
England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
The NFL currently has XLERATOR hand dryers installed at its New York headquarters, NFL Network
Studios in Los Angeles and is encouraging the use of high-speed, energy-efficient hand dryers at
stadiums as part of the leagues Green Initiative, said David Krichavsky, director of community
affairs, National Football League.
The XLERATOR dries hands three times faster (in 10 seconds)* using 80 percent less energy than
conventional hand dryers and represents a 95 percent cost savings over paper towels, eliminating
their labor, maintenance and waste. The installation of the XLERATOR hand dryers was a significant
factor in reducing overall waste removal from Fenway Park by over 123 tons when first installed,
which equated to a 24 percent reduction in waste compared to the same time the previous year. A
customized cost-savings analysis revealed that the XLERATOR hand dryers reduced Fenway Parks
hand drying carbon footprint by 82 percent. Additionally, with the installation of the XLERATOR hand
dryers, Fenway Park saved $83,000 annually a 97 percent savings over paper towels and saw a
full return on their investment in just over 12 months, including installation costs.
With the capacity to hold nearly 70,000 people for any event, Gillette Stadiums restrooms offered
significant room for improving sustainability. Originally equipped with paper towel dispensers, Gillette
Stadium used an average of 6.3 million paper towels per year at a cost of more than $50,000 for
paper, maintenance and waste removal. The New England Patriots partnered with Excel Dryer to
install more than 125 XLERATOR hand dryers throughout Gillette Stadium. The units have several
different cover designs featuring the teams logo, colors and a sustainability message letting fans
know why theyve switched from paper towels. By installing the XLERATOR hand dryers, Gillette
Stadium has saved 95 percent versus paper towels, while reducing their carbon footprint by 70
percent.
While our primary focus remains on creating the ultimate fan experience, were continually looking for
new areas to make environmental improvements, said Jim Nolan, vice president of operations at
Gillette Stadium. Updating the restrooms with XLERATOR hand dryers represents another large step
in reducing our carbon footprint. Over time, we plan to install more dryers throughout our other
properties, reducing operating costs and supporting our existing sustainability initiatives.
Excel Dryer offers custom digital image covers that provide stadiums and arenas with an opportunity
to showcase branding with graphics, colors, logos or a custom sustainability message. Additionally,
Excel Dryer has partnered with the Green Apple Program, an initiative from the Center for Green
Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) that brings together advocates from around the
world and encourages them to take action in their communities through service. Through this
partnership, Excel Dryer created custom covered high-speed, energy-efficient Green Apple
XLERATOR hand dryers that are available for any facility to purchase with a portion of the proceeds
going back to the Green Apple initiative that supports putting all our children in healthy, sustainable
learning environments within this generation.

comprehensive guide about the latest in green and sustainable design. Excel Dryer was among the
sustainable product manufacturers asked to provide thought leadership within the book. More
specifically, Bonda featured the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), performed by Quantis International, in a
case study as the proper way to prove product sustainability. The LCA confirmed the XLERATOR hand
dryer reduces the carbon footprint of hand drying by 50-70 percent when compared to both traditional
hand dryers and even 100 percent recycled paper towels.

EXCEL DRYER ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH NATIONAL

RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION CONSERVE PROGRAM
East Longmeadow, MA March 30, 2015
For more than 50 years, Excel Dryer, Inc., has
manufactured the finest American made hand dryers featuring the original, patented, high-speed,
energy-efficient XLERATOR hand dryer, today announced its sponsorship of the National Restaurant
Association (NRA) Conserve Sustainability Program. The XLERATOR hand dryer manufactured by Excel
Dryer creates a more hygienic restroom environment for the restaurant and food service industries.
As part of our Conserve Program, NRA provides tips and tools for restaurant operators looking to
maximize their sustainability efforts in their everyday operation, said Jeff Clark, Conserve Program
director. By installing highspeed,energy-efficient XLERATOR hand dryers in place of paper towels,
restaurants will reduce their hand drying carbon footprint by up to 70 percent, impacting not only the
environment, but their bottom line.
The XLERATOR hand dryer allows facilities to eliminate bacteria laden paper towel waste and
positively impact global warming trends while creating a more hygienic restroom environment, said
William Gagnon, vice president of marketing at Excel Dryer. As all facilities are now looking for green
and cost-saving initiatives, the installation of the XLERATOR hand dryer accomplishes both.
Sustainability is becoming increasingly popular with restaurant diners. According to the NRA 2014
Restaurant Industry Forecast, over half of consumers say they are likely to make a restaurant choice
based on its eco-friendly practices and a majority of restaurant operators across all segments say their
guests are increasingly interested in environmentally sustainable menu items. Additionally, a restroom
says a lot about a facility and can influence how likely guests are to return. A survey conducted by
Cintas Corporation, a national restroom cleaning and supplies service provider, found that 88 percent
of respondents identified overflowing trashcans as a sign of a dirty restroom. Eighty percent of those
surveyed said paper towels and toilet paper on the floor was another sign. By adopting touch-free,
high-efficiency fixtures such as the high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR hand dryer manufactured
by Excel Dryer, facilities eliminate paper tower labor, maintenance and waste and improve restroom
cleanliness.

EXCEL DRYER ENCOURAGES PARTICIPATION IN

INTERNATIONAL FACILITY MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATIONS
ADVOCACY DAY AND PUBLIC POLICY FORUM, JULY 23-24
Government relations is essential to advancing facility management profession
East Longmeadow, MA July 23, 2014
Excel Dryer, Inc., manufacturer of the original, patented,
high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR and new XLERATOReco hand dryers, today announced the
importance of reaching out to local, state and federal elected officials about the significance of the
built environment and the impact facility management has on issues like energy efficiency and
sustainability. To that end, Excel Dryer will take part in the International Facility Management
Associations (IFMA) Advocacy Day and Public Policy Forum in Washington, D.C., Wednesday, July 23
and Thursday, July 24.
"Engaging in the legislative process is one of the most effective ways that facility managers can
influence federal and municipal policies impacting the profession, said Excel Dryer Vice President of
Marketing, William Gagnon. Legislators need information on Capitol Hill to encourage public policy
that supports energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives that not only benefit facility management
professionals but the public at large."
Held July 23-24 in Washington, D.C., IFMAs Advocacy Day and Public Policy Forum educates IFMA
members on the legislative process and encourages their participation as spokespersons for the facility
management profession. It is an opportunity for the IFMA community to influence federal and
municipal policies impacting the profession. During the Advocacy Day and Public Policy Forum, facility
managers will:

Get a first-hand look at how Congress creates and implements

the laws that affect business

Meet with representatives offices in the U.S. House and
Senate and introduce them to facility managers and help
influence their decisions
"As facilities are now looking for green and cost-saving initiatives, legislators need only look around
Washington, D.C. to see energy efficiency and sustainability in action, said Gagnon. Both Nationals
Park, home of the Washington Nationals baseball team and the Washington Redskins football teams
home at FedExField are equipped with high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR hand dryers. In
addition, several D.C.-based government headquarters including the US Green Building Council
(USGBC) and US Department of Agriculture (USDA) use XLERATOR hand dryers and have realized
substantial energy and sustainability benefits.
The USGBC has been the beacon for green building and design and lifeblood behind the LEED
(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building certification program. Like the green
movement itself, the USGBC has experienced rapid and sustained growth. The present demand for
LEED certification for building projects is so high that the USGBC has expanded significantly in
recent years to accommodate its growth. After just two years at its Dupont Circle headquarters in
Washington, D.C., the USGBC outgrew its office space and renovated a circa-1970s office building to
become the first project to achieve LEED Platinum under the newest version of its green building
rating system. At the time of the renovation, Excel Dryer had been a corporate member of the USGBC
for nearly seven years and the XLERATOR hand dryer was a featured green product at USGBC
headquarters.
Likewise, the USDA, in an effort to eliminate 12 tons of paper towel waste annually, installed two
dozen XLERATOR hand dryers throughout the USDA complex in Washington, D.C. The installation
not only significantly reduced paper tower waste each year, but also lowered the cost of purchasing
paper towels, reduced paper towel maintenance and disposal costs, and improved bathroom hygiene
with far fewer wet paper towels trapping germs and overflowing onto the bathroom floor.
XLERATOR is the original, patented high-speed energy efficient hand dryer that dries hands
completely in 10 seconds*, three times faster than conventional dryers, while using 80 percent less
energy. XLERATOR hand dryers represent a 95 percent cost savings versus paper towels and
eliminates their maintenance and waste while creating a more hygienic restroom environment. In
addition, the XLERATOR hand dryer product family is GreenSpec listed and helps qualify for
several LEED v4 Credits and Green Globes to achieve corporate or government sustainability goals.
The XLERATOReco hand dryer uses new no heat technology to dry hands in 10 seconds* using
only 500 watts, making it the most energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly hand dryer on the
planet. XLERATOReco sets another new industry standard in green innovation and sustainability.
Drawing four and a half amps or less, multiple XLERATOReco units can be installed on one circuit,
which significantly reduces installation time and costs. XLERATOReco represents over a 95 percent
cost savings versus paper towels and eliminates their labor, maintenance and waste, while creating a
more hygienic restroom environment.

high-performing green schools that create better learning environments for our nation's students,"
said William Gagnon, Vice President of Marketing, Excel Dryer, Inc.
Unlike conventional hand dryers, which average 30 to 45 seconds of drying time, XLERATOR dries
hands three times faster (completely in 10 seconds) and uses 80 percent less energy than
conventional hand dryers. XLERATOR represents a 95 percent cost savings when compared to paper
towels, reduces the need for maintenance and improves restroom hygiene. XLERATOR is also the
only hand dryer to be Made in USA Certified, the first hand dryer to be GreenSpec Listed and helps
facilities qualify for LEED credits.
A customized cost-savings analysis revealed that XLERATOR could save Sacramento Charter High
School almost $17,000.00 annually a 97.96 percent savings versus paper towels and eliminate
5,587 pounds of paper towel waste a year. Energy efficiency statistics generated from testing the
XLERATOR against paper towels are a compelling argument to adopt Excel Dryers technology;
drying hands with paper towels uses an average of 743 kilojoules per use, while an XLERATOR uses
just 76 kilojoules per use.
Excel Dryers expertise and knowledge about the importance of energy-efficient, low-maintenance
and durable hand dryers made a tremendous impact on our sustainability transformation at the
Sacramento City Unified School District, said Farah Wissinger, Environmental Sustainability Manager
for the school district. Excel Dryers customized cost-savings analysis showed us exactly how much
energy and money we were wasting on paper towels in our washrooms, including maintenance and
waste removal fees that really add up.

EXCEL DRYER, INC. JOINS ARCHITECTURE 2030S

CHALLENGE FOR PRODUCTS
Excel Dryers high-speed, energy-efficient hand dryer, XLERATOR, has
become the new industry standard helping architectural and building
professionals adopt environmentally-friendly solutions
East Longmeadow, MA November 5, 2013
Excel Dryer, Inc., manufacturer of the original,
patented, high-speed and energy-efficient XLERATOR hand dryer, today announced a partnership
with Architecture 2030, a nonprofit, nonpartisan and independent organization established in response
to the climate change crisis. Architecture 2030s mission is to rapidly transform the built environment
from a major contributor of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to a solution for the climate and energy
crisis through two primary objectives: reducing fossil fuel consumption and GHG emissions; and the
regional development of an adaptive, resilient built environment that can manage the impacts of
climate change, preserve natural resources and access low-cost, renewable energy resources.
We are thrilled to have Excel Dryer as a partner of our 2030 Challenge for Products, said Edward
Mazria, founder of Architecture 2030. Excel Dryers dedication to research and development that
upsets the status quo by offering innovative and sustainable solutions is remarkable. Through our
challenge we are raising awareness about climate change and the energy crisis, highlighting solutions
in the marketplace like XLERATOR while also encouraging the building and design community to
adopt green technologies.
Specifically, the 2030 Challenge for Products program seeks thought leaders of the global architecture
and building community to adopt, design and manufacture green and sustainable products to reduce
the carbon footprint by 30 percent below the product average by 2014 and then incrementally
improving the reduction to 50 percent by the year 2030.
Excel Dryer is pleased to partner with Architecture 2030 as we share the same mission to positively
impact the environment with sustainable, energy-saving and cost-saving solutions, said Vice
President of Marketing at Excel Dryer, William Gagnon. XLERATOR is a prime example of a simple
change any building professional can specify for virtually any purpose from new construction,
complete renovations or even just a single project to retrofit existing paper towel dispensers with our
XChanger retrofit kit. One small change can leave a lasting imprint on the environment and even
inspires other larger projects.
Architecture 2030 focuses on the building sector because it is responsible for almost half of the energy
consumption, 49 percent, and GHG emissions, 47 percent, in the United States. While the majority of
the energy consumption and their associated emissions come from building operations such as
heating, cooling and lighting, the embodied energy and emissions of building materials and products
are also becoming increasingly significant. When including all products for the built environment, such
as furniture, movable equipment and appliances, the percentage of energy consumption and GHG
emissions is even higher.
As part of the 2030 Challenge for Products, Architecture 2030 requires manufacturers to produce third
party expert verified Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies and requires architectural and building
professionals to specify low-carbon building products that meet the program targets. The peer

EXCEL DRYER AWARDED 'MADE IN USA CERTIFIED

MANUFACTURING COMPANY OF THE YEAR'
Massachusetts-based manufacturer of the XLERATOR sets the standard for
United States manufacturing and global demand
East Longmeadow, MA May 3, 2013
Excel Dryer, Inc., manufacturer of the high-speed,
energy-efficient XLERATOR hand dryer, today announced that Made in the USA Certified has named
Excel Dryer as the winner of the inaugural Made in USA Certified Awards, in the Medium Company
Category. The award will be presented at the 9th Annual Manufacturing Leadership Summit during an
awards luncheon on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida.
At Excel Dryer, we take great pride in our American-made business model, said Excel Dryer Vice

The inaugural award program included three manufacturing company award recipients, only one in
each category: large company, medium company and small company. Applicants were evaluated
based on company growth performance, overall business strategy and innovative approaches such as
excellence in internal operation, corporate training and manufacturing processes, including sustainable
practices.
Over the past ten years, XLERATOR has become the new industry standard, said Gagnon.
XLERATOR has less than a one percent failure rate making it the most reliable unit on the market for
our customers in the U.S. and abroad. International market demand is increasing rapidly in countries
like Mexico, Canada, Central and South America and Western Europe, including Germany and the
United Kingdom. Mexico alone represents 26 percent of Excel Dryers export sales YTD, and six
percent over all.
This year marked the addition of several optional accessories including: exclusive digital imaging
technology for custom cover designs adopted by organizations such as the New England Patriots,
Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, Subway, Frito Lay and many more; newly designed XChanger paper
towel dispenser retro-fit kits enabling a complete transformation from paper towels to XLERATOR
equipped restrooms without major renovation needed; and an anti-microbial wall guard supporting
superior hygienic standards.
Excel Dryer has grown to more than twelve times its size since the release of XLERATOR and
manufactures the only hand dryer to be Made in the USA Certified, the first hand dryer to be
GreenSpec listed and also helps facilities qualify for several LEED credits. As all facilities are now
looking for green and cost-saving initiatives; the installation of XLERATOR hand dryers accomplishes
both. XLERATOR is preferred by interior designers and specified by architects more than any other
hand dryer.
XLERATOR has been pursued by numerous cause marketing initiatives including the Green Apple
program and the Green Schoolhouse Series. Green Apple, an initiative of the Center for Green Schools
at the U.S. Green Building Council, is a global movement to put all children in schools where they have
clean and healthy air to breathe, where energy and resources are conserved and where they can be
inspired to dream of a brighter future. As part of its collaboration with Green Apple, Excel Dryer has
designed a Green Apple XLERATOR (XL-SI-1.1) custom cover hand dryer. A portion of the proceeds
from each Green Apple XLERATOR sold will be donated to Center for Green Schools' programs,
which are aimed at transforming schools into sustainable places to learn and play.
Excel Dryer also supports the Green Schoolhouse Series, a program leading the build of
environmentally friendly schools around the country. This program is a catalyst for change that brings
together both public and private organizations, school districts, municipalities, communities, media
outlets and volunteers to build environmentally-sustainable schoolhouses on existing Title I,
low-income, K-12 public school campuses.

LOCAL EVENT HOSTS SUPER BOWL CHAMPION AND HONORS

WOUNDED WARRIORS
Super Bowl champion Mike Flynn returns to Western Mass in support of
Americas heroes and Springfield-based Childrens Study Home
East Longmeadow, MA May 1, 2013
The Childrens Study Home is honored to welcome home
one of our own, Agawam native and Cathedral High Schools Super Bowl champion, Mike Flynn. Flynn
is extremely appreciative to have this opportunity to return to Western Mass and lend his support for
two causes he feels equally deserving; to provide a quality education to every American child and to
also pay tribute to the men and women of Americas Armed Forces who volunteered and put
themselves in harms way to defend freedom.
This event is about service, said Flynn. Service to our country by these military heroes and service
to these children to provide them the kind of future every American deserves. Its good to be home
and Im humbled to have an opportunity to support two worthy causes.
Flynn will be joined by United States Army Sergeant, Saul Bosquez, who lost his leg while serving in
Baghdad. Sergeant Bosquez is now attending college in New Hampshire and he is also a member of
the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball team, a team of Iraq and Afghanistan War amputees who
travel the country playing softball and flag football games to raise awareness. Later this summer the
team along with more than 40 prominent NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB stars, including Mike Flynn, will visit
the Boston Marathon bombing amputee victims in show of support and to help honor the first
responders who saved so many lives.
Mike Flynn and Sergeant Bosquez are both great role models for the kids, said Childrens Study
Home Community Relations and Development Associate, Teresa Spaziani. We are so happy they
could both make time and support the event that will benefit our Education Fund, providing
scholarships and educational resources to the children and youth we serve throughout the Pioneer
Valley and Cape Cod areas.
The Childrens Study Home 25th Anniversary Golf Tournament and Opportunity in Bloom Spring
Celebration will host Flynn and Wounded Warrior, Sergeant Bosquez. The tournament and celebration
will take place Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Crestview Country Club located at 281 Shoemaker Lane,
Agawam.
East Longmeadow, Mass-based Excel Dryer, Inc., manufacturer of the high-speed, energy-efficient
XLERATOR hand dryer, is the tournaments title sponsor, and is proud to offer the highest level of
support to the organization.
Excel Dryer is a long-time supporter of the Childrens Study Home, and we are proud to help in any
way we can. Said Vice President of Marketing and Key Accounts, William Gagnon. Many of the
Wounded Warriors live right here in Massachusetts communities, and the Childrens Study Home event
is great place to recognize the power of perseverance over tragedy. These American heroes are great
role models for the children and the rest of our nation, especially in Massachusetts after the recent
Boston Marathon bombings.

HIGH-SPEED, ENERGY-EFFICIENT HAND DRYER HELPS

SCHOOL DISTRICT SAVE TIME AND MONEY
XLERATOR: The hand dryer industry standard
East Longmeadow, MA April 23, 2013
Excel Dryer, Inc., manufacturer of the high-speed,
energy-efficient XLERATOR hand dryer, is proud to provide schools and educational organizations
with time and money savings by installing XLERATOR hand dryes. Suburban Chicago school district,
Niles Township School District 219, recently took advantage of the schools renovations to re-evaluate
expenditures in a number of facility-related areas.
Situated just north of Chicago, Niles Township School District 219 serves over 4,800 students from
portions of Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, Niles and Skokie, Illinois. This sprawling district includes two
high schools, which, similar to other schools across the country, are facing cutbacks that are causing
administrators to seek cost-saving initiatives anywhere they can find them.
Joe Tomaselli, Aramark director of operations for Niles Township School District 219, says that
administrators recently took advantage of the schools renovations to re-evaluate expenditures in a
number of facility-related areas. Restrooms had always been an area where we faced a lot of extra
work, says Tomaselli. Our student restrooms had both paper towels and traditional hand dryers, but
we were constantly dealing with vandalism, blocked toilets and more, which translated into an extra
four hours of clean-up every night. This was costing us an extra $16,500 per year in restroom
maintenance!

Furthermore, the schools were spending an estimated $38,700 per year on paper towels, not including
the additional costs associated with running hand dryers for 30 seconds per use.
After researching alternatives for source reduction, Tomaselli decided to install XLERATOR hand
dryers in the restrooms. In terms of energy savings, these dryers draw an average of 1500 watts per
use, compared to the traditional 2300 watts. Plus, they dry hands three times faster than traditional
dryers and shut off two seconds after the hands are removed from the sensor area. Annually, this
translates into an electrical consumption savings of $52 per unit, or for 80 units, $4,160 per year in
savings. The dryers delivered a return on investment in just one year. Once we did the math, the
cost savings were clear.
XLERATOR is the original, patented high-speed energy efficient hand dryer that dries hands
completely in 10 10 seconds, three times faster than conventional dryers, while using 80% less
energy. XLERATOR hand dryers represent a 95% cost savings over paper towels and eliminates their
maintenance and waste while creating a more hygienic restroom environment. In addition,
XLERATOR is GreenSpec listed and helps qualify for several LEED credits, making it a smart
choice for the restroom by saving time, money and the environment.
The XLERATOR is more user-friendly than recently introduced trough-style dryers and completely
hands-free: there is no risk of touching a potentially unclean surface while drying hands. Unlike the
newer models that require users to insert and remove their hands, the XLERATOR is intuitive and
does not require instruction. Priced at less than half of the cost of trough-style models and virtually
maintenance-free, the XLERATOR is easier for facility managers to install and maintain in their
restrooms.
XLERATOR continues to succeed where other hand dryers fail because it satisfies the needs of both
facility managers and patrons, said Denis Gagnon, president, Excel Dryer, Inc.
Currently, XLERATOR is installed in a variety of large school districts and universities across the
United States. Visit www.exceldryer.com to view a range of case studies and application stories.

East Longmeadow, MA April 20, 2012

Excel Dryer
, manufacturer of the XLERATOR

dryer installation fees and ensure proper hand dryer installation. Prior to this partnership, customers
had to work with separate installation vendors in each market; managing contacts, delivery,
installation dates, and invoices.
Our strategic partnership with RMSe is an industry first, said William Gagnon, vice president of
marketing and key accounts, Excel Dryer. Together, Excel and RMSe have launched a website,
www.buyadryer.com
that highlights how the power of partnership streamlines the specification,
purchase and installation of hand dryers for national remodel or retrofit projects.
Were able to provide customers with a fast and cost-effective way to install XLERATOR hand dryers
while ensuring that each dryer is installed properly and operating at peak performance. This
partnership provides our customers with a single contact and turn key solution for retrofitting
restrooms with the latest in green restroom technology, said Gagnon.
Tackling a large scale renovation project with a tight deadline can pose many logistics challenges. At
RMSe, we first develop an efficient plan, and we hire the best project managers and contractors to
carry it out. Speed, efficiency and quality are the inevitable results of what we do, says Brent Dewey,
president and CEO of RMSe.
With RMSes streamlined process, XLERATOR customers can typically expect a national hand dryer
retrofit to be complete in less than 30 days.
RMSe employs 2,000 certified, licensed and bonded technicians in all 50 states, so customers can be
sure that each installation is done properly and affordably. Recent RMSe projects include work for
Radio Shack, Red Roof Inn, Pepsi, Home Depot, New England Patriots Gillette Stadium, Citibank,

Next Generation Green Restroom Design for Next Generation

Green Schools
With help from its building partners, The Green Schoolhouse Series is charting
the course for building healthy, sustainable schools for the 21st century

East Longmeadow, MA April 18, 2012 It all started as a well-intentioned temporary fix. Driven by
an unprecedented student population boom between 1950 and 2000, school districts erected
thousands of portable classrooms. Today, there are still more than 300,000 trailer-like portables in
use at K-12 schools across the nation; and although intended as an interim solution, many have now
been in place for 30 to 40 years. They are operating well beyond their expected lifespan, and as a
result of mold, poor ventilation and other hazards, they are unsafe and hinder students' ability to
learn. According to the National Education Association, an alarming 25 percent of temporary
classrooms are substandard or dangerous and low-income children suffer disproportionately. Indoor
air quality is a particularly important concern, as evidenced by the fact that, each year, American
children miss more than ten million school days due to asthma and other respiratory ailments related
to poor indoor air quality.
Bringing together entire communities, school districts, corporations, and volunteers, The
Green
Schoolhouse Series (GSHS)
is the first program of its kind to build sustainable, LEED/CHPS Certified
schoolhouses in a manner similar to Extreme Home Makeover and Habitat for Humanity.
Groundbreaking for the inaugural Green Schoolhouse, The Safari, at Roadrunner Elementary School in
Phoenix, AZ, commenced in early fall 2011. The school is expected to be complete by summer 2012.

As flagship building partners in The Green Schoolhouse Series,

Sloan Valve Company
and
Excel Dryer,
Inc
. have teamed up to ensure that each new schoolhouse features the latest in green, hygienic
restroom design. All too often school restrooms are synonymous with odors and poor sanitary
conditions that can contribute to the spread of germs and illness. Over the last ten years,
manufacturers have come to market with an array of innovative, hands-free hand dryers, toilets,
urinals, sinks, and soap dispensers that help improve restroom hygiene and student safety. In addition
to promoting cleaner restrooms, these products also meet rigorous LEED standards through reduced
water consumption, energy use and waste.
Designing Restrooms with Sustainability and Safety in Mind
Architects for the Green Schoolhouse Series selected the high-efficiency products featured in
Next
Generation Green Restroom Design
, a new CEU course created by Sloan Valve and Excel Dryer.
Developed in collaboration with the U.S. Green Building Councils new virtual tour, the course provides
an overview of the newest technologies in high-efficiency plumbing products and fixtures for
sustainable restroom design. The course demonstrates the practical, economical and environmental
benefits of highspeed, energy-efficient hand dryers, water use and trends, and how to choose
water-saving products. It clearly explains how these products contribute to new best-practice green
building.
By specifying the high-efficiency restroom fixtures illustrated in the course, each Green Schoolhouse
will reduce restroom water usage by up to 50%, cost and maintenance by more than 90% and reduce
the carbon footprint of hand drying by up to 70%.
Not only will the students benefit from learning in a healthier classroom setting, the Green
Schoolhouses will also serve as integral, hands-on teaching tools, explained Marshall G. Zotara,
Founder and Senior Managing Partner of CAUSE AND EFFECT Evolutions, a cause development firm
spearheading the program.
Going forward, the new Green Schoolhouse schools sustainable attributes also include solar energy,
day lighting, enhanced acoustics, energy-efficient HVAC systems, earth-friendly wall systems and
flooring, zero-VOC paints, drought-tolerant landscaping, motion detectors, and energy management
systems, incorporated to create to a green educational learning environment. The sustainable design,
products and components are expected to help achieve net-zero energy, resulting in no additional
electricity costs being incurred because of the new, additional facilities.
Each school will take an estimated 30-45 days to complete and will be built solely by volunteers led by
professional contractors, tradesman and technicians.

American made XLERATOR high-speed,
energy-efficient hand dryer meets the federal governments guidelines for American Recovery
and Reinvestment Act funds to restore and renovate federal facilities into high-performance,
green buildings.

There are currently no Energy Star or FEMP designated categories for energy-efficient hand
dryers, says Bill Gagnon, Director of Marketing, Excel Dryer, Inc. In this case, the federal
government gives preference to products such as XLERATOR that can demonstrate a 25% or
more increase in energy efficiency. This means that XLERATOR dryers are ARRA compliant now
and project managers can start experiencing significant cost and energy savings this year.

With a payback of less than one year, the XLERATOR hand dryer represents a major cost
savings, is an excellent source reduction alternative and helps qualify for a multiple LEED
credits in the new 2009 Rating System, particularly for LEED Existing Buildings (LEED-EB).
Under LEED-EB: Operations and Management, XLERATOR can earn credits for energy

Excel Dryer, Inc. Announces Results of Life Cycle Assessment

for XLERATOR
The high-speed hand dryer achieved major reduction in climate change
impacts, non-renewable energy, impacts on ecosystems, and emissions that
damage human health.
November 9, 2009 East Longmeadow, Mass.
Excel Dryer, Inc. announced today that it has
released the findings of a peer reviewed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for its high-speed energy

efficient hand dryer, XLERATOR

. The LCA study, conducted by Quantis, an international life cycle
assessment research firm, determined that when compared to traditional electric hand dryers and
paper towels (virgin and 100% recycled content), XLERATOR reduces the Climate Changing Score
(Carbon Footprint) of hand drying by 50%-75%. Each hand drying system was evaluated on 10 years

of service, or drying 260,000 pairs of hands. The LCA measured the entire environmental impact of
XLERATOR from beginning to end-of-life.
The results of the study indicate that XLERATOR provides significant environmental benefits when
compared to the other hand drying options considered in the assessment. The major advantage it
provides, when compared to conventional electric hand dryers, is the nearly four-fold reduction of
electricity consumption during the use of the dryer. When compared to paper towels, the combined
environmental impact of producing the paper towels and associated materials and handling far
exceeds the impact of using XLERATOR. Even "high-intensity" users of XLERATOR (10 seconds of hand
drying time per use) still remained at a lower level of environmental impact than "low intensity" users
of traditional hand dryers (20 seconds of hand drying time per use) or one-to-two paper towels per
use.
"The LCA study provides industry professionals, architects and others with a scientific assessment of
how various hand drying options impact the environment," said William Gagnon, director of
marketing, Excel Dryer, Inc. "It confirms that XLERATOR contributes to reducing a facility's carbon
footprint when compared to traditional hand dryers or paper towels."
According to the LCA study, a wide variety of environmental impact categories were evaluated and the
XLERATOR provided an environmental advantage in each category. In addition to reducing climate
change impacts (carbon footprint), XLERATOR also reduces the use of non-renewable energy, impacts
on ecosystems and emissions that damage human health.
"The results of this independent study exceeded our expectations," said Denis Gagnon, president,
Excel Dryer, Inc.

EXCEL DRYER,

Inc., manufacturer of the patented high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR

hand dryer has
announced a new partnership with the New England Patriots to install over 100 custom New England
Patriots logo XLERATOR units throughout Gillette Stadium.
The agreement names XLERATOR the official
hand dryer
of the New England Patriots. It allows the
high-speed branded dryers to be sold online at
www.patriots.com
through the
approved supplier for
the NFL
to restaurants, bars and other facilities that wish to install XLERATOR hand dryers with the
Patriots logo.
"Installation of XLERATOR hand dryers reduces the cost and maintenance associated with paper towels
in the stadium's restrooms," said Jim Nolan, vice president of operations, Gillette Stadium. "Over time,
we plan to install more dryers throughout our other properties, reducing operating costs and
supporting our existing sustainability initiatives."
"The NFL currently has XLERATOR hand dryers installed at its New York headquarters, NFL Network
Studios in Los Angeles, and is encouraging the use of high-speed, energy-efficient hand dryers at
stadiums as part of the league's 'Green Initiative'," said David Krichavsky, director of community
affairs, National Football League.
In the seven years after its official launch, the XLERATOR's speed and effectiveness have established it
as the New Industry Standard by which other hand dryers are measured. The XLERATOR is
user-friendly and easy for facility managers to install and maintain in their facilities.
The XLERATOR completely dries hands in 10 seconds, versus conventional dryers that take 30 to 45
seconds or longer.
XLERATOR completes the job three times faster, uses 80% less energy than traditional hand dryers
and delivers a
95% cost savings vs. paper towels

environment.
"We are excited about partnering with one of the most respected organizations in professional sports,"
said William Gagnon, director of marketing, EXCEL DRYER, Inc. "The Kraft Group has created the
model franchise in the NFL; its team, operations, business, and green initiatives are a proven blueprint
for success."
In 2001, the Kraft family, which privately financed the construction of Gillette Stadium, received the
Environmental Award for Corporate Leadership from the Environment Business Council of New England
in recognition of the innovative environmental practices in the stadium's design. In 2002, the year the
stadium opened, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency presented The Kraft Group with New

England's Environmental Merit Award. Since 2007, Gillette Stadium has utilized Renewable Energy

Patriots pre-season, regular and post-season home games. A wastewater reuse system at the stadium
also saves millions of gallons of water annually.

today's green initiatives, XLERATOR dryers can help facility managers save large amounts of time and

About New England Patriots and Gillette Stadium
The Patriots were named the eighth and final charter franchise of the American Football League (AFL)
on Nov. 16, 1959 and are celebrating their 50th anniversary season this year. In 1994, Robert Kraft
purchased the franchise and vowed to bring New England its first league championship. The Patriots
delivered on that promise at the end of the 2001 season and became just the second team in NFL
history to win three Super Bowls in a four-year span after winning back-to-back titles in 2003 and
2004. Since 1994, the Patriots have won more games and more often than every other NFL team. The
Patriots play their home games in Gillette Stadium, which is also home to Major League Soccer's New
England Revolution and is New England's premier sports and entertainment venue. Fans have sold out
every Patriots home game since Gillette Stadium opened in 2002, and flock to the stadium to see the
New England Revolution, attend world-class concerts and participate in special events that keep it
busy year round. For more information, please visit

Instead of trying to evaporate water droplets off hands, XLERATOR blows them off using a focused
high-velocity air stream and a specially designed nozzle. The high-velocity air also breaks up the layer
of water vapor between the air and the skin, causing the thin water film to evaporate quickly. "Along
with XLERATOR's long-standing reputation for performance, cost savings and sustainability, the ADEX
awards reinforce Excel Dryer's dedication to innovative, environmentally-friendly solutions for
restrooms around the world," says William Gagnon, director of marketing for Excel Dryer, Inc.
ADEX is one of the largest and most prestigious award programs for product design of furniture,

Design Journal
introduced the Awards for Design Excellence in 1994 as a way of recognizing superior
product design. An anonymous panel of professionals representing a cross section of the design
industry conducts all voting for the ADEX awards. Each category has potential for three award levels of
platinum, gold or silver.
This award for XLERATOR complements an array of previous product awards that includes;
Buildings
Magazine,
Editor's Choice Award, 2008; NEOCON 2007: Product Innovation Award; Best New Product,
technology category, 2005 at the International Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Show; Best New Product,

Currently, XLERATOR is installed in a variety of busy, high traffic restrooms, including some
high-profile destinations such as Disney World and the new Wembley Stadium.

examples such as adding insulation to existing buildings, installing variable speed drives, converting
parking garages to LED lighting, replacing windows and adding low flow restroom fixtures.
The Stimulus Bill's objectives are both to improve the U.S. economy and help 'green' U.S. government
facilities. Installation of high-speed hand dryers such as XLERATOR will lower the carbon footprint of

The industry standard hand dryer, which dries hands three times faster

Council (USGBC) has expanded significantly in recent years. As a result, they decided to build
new headquarters that would embody the founding principles of the organization. Their new

Five years after its official launch, the XLERATOR's speed,

effectiveness and proven performance have made it the new industry standard by which other
hand dryers are judged. The XLERATOR is more user-friendly than recently introduced
"Trough-Style" dryers and completely hands-free: there is no risk of touching a potentially
unclean surface while drying hands. Unlike the newer models that require users to insert and
remove their hands, the XLERATOR is intuitive and does not require instruction. Priced at less
than half of the cost of trough-style models and virtually maintenance-free, the XLERATOR is
easier for facility managers to install and maintain in their restrooms.

"As a USGBC member, we're proud of the fact that the XLERATOR hand dryer helps facilities
qualify for LEED credits," said Denis Gagnon, president of Excel Dryer. "Having the dryers in
place at the very organization that helps others decrease their environmental footprint is a
terrific vote of confidence for our product."

Each of the USGBC's restrooms includes an XLERATOR as well as water-free urinals, dual-flush
toilets and low-flow faucets, resulting in a 40% reduction in water use.

First-ever Green Restaurant Products Pavilion at the National

Restaurant Association Show
Green Restaurant Association companies team together; Sunday speech to
address environmental issues vital to restaurant and foodservice professionals
March 30, 2006 - Chicago, IL
- For the first time ever at the National Restaurant Association (NRA)
Restaurant Hotel-Motel Show, companies who have recently received product endorsements from the
Green Restaurant Association (GRA) have come together to create the Green Restaurant Products
Pavilion. This collaborative exhibit aims to communicate the GRA's envirocentric goals and includes
Waterless Co., Sloan Valve Company, Huhtamaki, Excel Dryer, Inc., Cascades Tissue Group, and T&S
Brass, Inc. Participating vendors will demonstrate how restaurant owners can employ their products to
save energy, resources and money, and the GRA will provide environmental information and resources
unique to the restaurant industry. GRA Executive Director Michael Oshman will also deliver a speech
on this topic, scheduled for Sunday, May 21st at noon.
The Green Restaurant Association (GRA) was formed in 1990 to promote ecological responsibility in
the foodservice industry and to endorse the products that can help restaurant owners meet their
environmental goals. "Restaurant owners today face a great deal of choices - and challenges - when it
comes to meeting environmental goals without detracting from customer satisfaction or breaking the
bank," says Michael Oshman, Executive Director of the GRA. "The Green Restaurant Products Pavilion
offers show attendees the unique opportunity to view a broad spectrum of environmentally friendly
products under one roof and learn how 'going green' can benefit their bottom line."
