Door Signs

Attached are the Instruction Signs. These signs need to be posted on the door of
each room. The signs tell the children any instruction they need to know for the
task in that room, and sometimes they will have a ‘hint’ for the children.
You will also find the puzzles, games, etc. attached below. I have included all
the necessary items to go along with each game. There may be a few pictures,
signs, etc. that you will need to type up or find, but mostly everything is
included.
Some of the rooms will need to have a specific sign/picture that the children
will be looking for in order to find that room. I did not include these, but they
are very easy to do.

Article of Faith #2: this room will need a ‘Garden of Eden’ sign on the door, along with
the attached instruction sign.

Article of Faith #3: this room will be the ‘Garden of Gethsemane’. Type up a sign for this
door and post it along with the attached instruction sign.

Article of Faith #6: this room will need a picture of President Monson on the door along
with the attached instruction sign.

Article of Faith #7: this room will need to have a picture of a Gift along with the attached
instruction sign.

Article of Faith #8: this room will need to have a picture of Scriptures along with the
attached instruction sign.

Article of Faith #9: this room will need to have the Proclamation to the World on the
door, along with the attached instruction sign.

Article of Faith #10: this room will need to have a ‘Zion’ sign on the door, along with the
attached instruction sign.

Article of Faith #12: this room will need to have a picture of a Crown on the door, along
with the attached instruction sign.

The first task/room will not have a door sign.
You will need to make a copy for each team. Then cut each line into a strip of paper. Each strip of paper
will go inside a balloon. Each team will have 9 balloons with 9 pieces of paper inside.

Welcome to the Garden of Eden.

At the far end of the room you
will see the tree of knowledge
of good and evil. On the tree
are several fruit. You must take
turns picking a fruit. (You won’t
be punished(On the back are
pieces of an article of faith.
Your team must work together
to figure out what article of
faith this is and put the article
of faith in the correct order.

Christ.

When Jesus Christ was living on the

earth He organized His church with
Apostles and prophets. He also called
other priesthood officers(including
Seventies. When He restored His church (
through the Prophet Joseph Smith (it
had the same foundation of Apostles
and prophets. In this room you will see
a picture of Jesus and a picture of
President Monson. Below these 2
pictures are 24 names of men. There
are 12 names of Jesus’ apostles and 12
names of President Monson’s apostles.
Work as a team and put the correct
apostles under Jesus and President
Monson.
Hint: Jesus’ apostles are going to sound a little different than the
apostles we have today.

 My sister found me some pictures from a Book of Mormon book that looked like tribes. I just cut these
out and hid them around the room.

If you can’t find any pictures that would work, you could do another game/puzzle.
An idea you could use could be:
-Fill in the Blank Game: Type up the Article of Faith with some of the words missing. Beside the Article
of Faith have a bunch of word strips with different words. Have some silly words in there to make it fun.

-For the little ones you could just find a picture of a boy or girl with the name of the tribe on the back.
Have them find all of the people/tribes.

-Instead of the children doing a puzzle, have someone dress up as a person from one of the 10 tribes. Have
them talk the children, and then have the children answer a simple question. If answered correctly the
person can give them their next clue.

We need to remember to
always obey the laws of
the land. If we don’t we
can get into a lot of
trouble. Throughout the
halls of the church are
pictures of things that
relate to laws. Find 2 and
then come back and
receive your next mission.

For this, I found pictures of Stop signs, speed limit signs, etc. You could even throw in
some funny signs, that don’t obey the laws of the land.

Relay Race

You will not need a sign for this game. For the 13th Article of Faith game, we had only the Sr. Primary
participate. But you could combine teams, so that there are Jr. and Sr. children on each team (Sr. could
help the Jr. children).
After both of the Sr. Primary teams finished their Scavenger Hunt we had them play a game for the 13th
Article of Faith. We had the children do a relay race, but there was a twist to it.

‘Using your Head’

Head’ Relay Race
You will need:
2 headbands-more if needed
Velcro
13th Article of Faith, with some of the words missing
Pieces of paper with the missing words typed/written
Type up the 13th Article of Faith, with blank lines for the missing words. Next, type/write
the missing words onto small pieces of paper. On the back of the pieces of paper, attach a
piece of Velcro (the soft side of the Velcro). Now, get your headbands and the Velcro
(the rough side). Attach a long piece of Velcro (or several small pieces) to the headband.
And that is it. Now, we’re ready to play!
Have each team stand in a line on one side of the room/cultural hall. On the opposite
wall have pieces of paper taped (or use the sticky putty) to the wall with words from the
13th Article of Faith. You will need to make sure that the Velcro is on the side that is Not
against the wall.
Each team is given a headband that has a long piece of Velcro on it and also the Fill-in-
the-Blank 13th Article of Faith puzzle.
Explain to the children that they are going to be doing a relay race.
The first person on each team puts the head band on, with the Velcro facing forward (on
their forehead). They then have to run across the gym to the pieces of paper. Without using
their hands, they have to stick a piece of paper to their headband, and then run back to
their team. The next person in line has to retrieve the word from the teammates head and
find its place in the Article of Faith. Once they put the word in a place, they put the
headband on, and run to get the next word. And so on, and so on. The first team to finish
the 13th Article of Faith, correctly, WINS!!
