Free Tuition for Underprivileged Students for Ivy League Universities

For far too long, low income parents have found it increasingly difficult to send
their children to top Ivy League Universities. Ivy League schools such as,
Harvard University, Columbia, Princeton and Brown are in the price range of
$50.000 dollars per year or more, this is way beyond reach for many parents
wishing to send their children to one of these top schools.
Those seeking a four year degree at one of these Universities are looking at a
price range of a few hundred thousand dollars. Most parents cannot afford these
high tuition fees plus room and board.
In this article we are going to look at an Ivy League free tuition program. This
article will explain how families with little income can still send their children
to one of these top schools, and look at financial aid deadlines.
Harvard, Princeton and Columbia along with the other Ivy League schools have
adjusted their guidelines to provide a tuition free college degree for students
whose families bring in less than $60,000 per year. This means that students
who previously would have been unable to attend due to low income, can now
attend one of these top schools without having to worry about how they are
going to pay for it.
Taking advantage of these tuition free financial aid systems means certain
procedures must be followed, checking deadlines and applying early is key to
getting into these programs.
Here are some other things to consider when parents of undocumented students
wish to send their children to higher level institution.
Undocumented immigrants do have rights under State and Federal Law
concerning attending Universities. They do not restrict immigrants from
attending the desired college that they wish to attend. Also no proof of
citizenship is required for enrollment, however some state universities and
private institutions have made it so undocumented residents will not qualify for
lower, in-state tuition fees and financial aid.
Brown Universitys Mission statement states that no human being is illegal.
They have policies in place to ensure equality for all human beings regardless
of immigration status. Also stated is they are part of a global community
working towards creating a world in various types of oppression are abolished.

If you are interested in applying to Brown or any other Ivy league college,
dont let your immigration be an issue and stand in the way of your success.
Brown, like many other universities, accepts undocumented students and
provides them private financial aid since undocumented students are unable to
receive federal student aid.
It is estimated that every year only about 5 10 percent of undocumented
students are eligible to attend a university. That is about 65,000 undocumented
students nationwide. Of these about 50,000 attended a university and on
average, graduation rates are about 80% according to Brown website, that is
quite a remarkable figure.
