Business in Ukraine - Culture

Doing business in Ukraine is different from business in other countries

including the USA, England, Germany and other northern and central
European countries. Here we see that foreign expatriates say about
how the business culture in Ukraine differs from other countries. Do
not be surprised that most comments here are negative. Culture of
Ukraine are naturally very oriented production, and may not be the
easiest place to do business, but Ukraine has other virtues - for
example, is a great place to make friends, meet interesting people,
and have fun.

Accuracy and reliability in Ukraine

Foreigners in Ukraine find that it is too late is the norm for the
Ukrainians. Arriving five minutes late to a meeting or a meeting is

Ukrainians pay more attention to emotional aspects of communication

Interaction with the Ukrainian government bodies

agencies often have overlapping areas of responsibility and have
conflicting instructions and policies. Control and regulation of entities
are often unpredictable act, based on rules that nobody else knows.
We often hear the word "non transparent" with regard to the Ukrainian
government processes. What does this mean? This means that the
rules and principles of government bodies comply with the discharge
of their functions are poorly formulated and not available to the
general public. This lack of formal, laid-in-stone information is
maddening to many Ukrainian businessmen and foreigners. Even if it
seems that the rules should be recorded, "evidence" (or "colors," what
they want to say in Ukraine ), such as selecting agents office hours,
availability of necessary forms, and more than expected lines can
easily throw everything in unison. It seems that nothing has been done
to make the system work more smoothly and efficiently. Western
businessmen often know exactly what changes should be made to the

redundancies, and the disruption that allows government agencies to
keep businesses and citizens in a state of uncertainty and
submissiveness that can exploit for their own benefit, if necessary .
Historically, different types of corruption has flourished in Ukraine, and
companies are forced to seek personal relationships with officers of
government for their safety and access to information. In most western
countries are usually not critical to the success of companies in
person to have good contacts in government agencies. In Ukraine it is.
This situation often seem threatening and dangerous for Westerners,
and it's really hard to adjust. To effectively run a large company in
Ukraine, should be adapted to existing communication styles, to some
extent, even if you feel like you are "compromising your principles."
Remember - they come from your upbringing and can not be absolute,
like you used to think.

Leadership style in Ukraine

Foreigners from the West will find some different styles of leadership
in Ukrainian organizations. The Ukrainians do not take personal
responsibility so easily and west of society which prepares them for
leadership roles from kindergarten up. After becoming a leader, many
Ukrainians become more authoritarian and change their attitude
towards their colleagues, who themselves have an ingrained
subservient attitude toward authority - a well known feature of
Ukrainians, especially the Russians.
Among the Western entrepreneurs, democratic and fair leadership
style is definitely more common, and leaders are more likely to
delegate. In Ukraine, the leaders tend to focus more decision-making
in the hands of their faith and allegiance to demand their employees in
conjunction with work-related skills. In the new capitalist Ukraine,
many employers resort to exhaustive and aggressive interrogation
techniques designed to weed out "weak" potential employees who can
not take the heat or pressure dislike.

Job search and discrimination in Ukraine

It is common for vacancies in Ukraine to determine the age and
gender of potential employees. Fortunately, she and other personal
information such as marital status given to the top of the CVs of
virtually all Ukrainians. In the new economic realities of post-Soviet
Ukraine, many people find it almost impossible to find work after 45.
Furthermore, discrimination against the new job, married women are

Ukraine seems to be on your way to becoming a European country,
which means that over the next decades the country will require
extensive economic and infrastructure development. If the new

Getting a job in Ukraine
One way to come to Ukraine and make a decent living is to teach
English or another foreign language. We have created a special

certification or teaching experience is usually required, so I suggest
you get an online certificate teaching English (after taking an online

Another way is to get a job with an international company or agency
that hires foreigners. Everyone dreams of going to work in Ukraine
and earning a Western salary doing the same thing they do at home.
However, such exposures are difficult to find and are usually not
widely advertised. Many international companies seeking foreign
workers through their branches abroad, with no posting job
advertisements on the Internet. If the intention of finding a job with an
international company, companies find contact information on the
Internet and write to tell them what you want and what your
qualifications. They resume ready to send. Many companies are
forever on the lookout for good, qualified. To persisent, and perhaps
you will find something eventually, if you are really qualified and have
something to offer the organization.
To hire a foreign citizen legally, Ukrainian employers must apply for a
work permit. In the past, this requirement was often ignored, but not
anymore. To get a work permit, the company must prove that your
work can be done by a Ukrainian. The process of obtaining a permit
from the city employment office can be difficult. I've heard of
companies getting foreign work permits as "translators" even though

Creating your own business in Ukraine

Another option is to create your own business and register. Although

the law requires a work permit to work for someone else, you work for
yourself with the same rights as Ukrainian. Foreigners have created
many successful business language teaching, bars and nightclubs,
and even publishers. Starting up a business can be difficult if you do
not Ukraine or Russia and Ukraine have not for ages. You can create
your own or use the expensive services of several law firms in English
(French, German, etc.) speaking lawyers. Also, we strongly

Invest in Ukraine
- Historically, the investment climate in Ukraine has gone up and down
and has not yet been sufficiently attractive to bring in the necessary
amounts of capital from the developed world. Factors commonly
referred to as factors that hinder investment in Ukraine is poor legal

- Many foreign visitors to Ukraine are well aware that the property
market in Ukraine has grown rapidly. Apartment prices in Kiev and
other major Ukrainian cities have "gone through the roof" in the past
several years. Happy indeed, investors who bought real estate
(apartments) in cities of Ukraine in the early '90s for a few thousand
dollars and have seen their property increase in value by an average
of 20-40% a year ago. Add to that revenues from the rental apartment
and have a very profitable advantage!
- Many investors decided to enter the market of Ukraine since the
Orange Revolution (November-December 2004), which showed that
the country has strong democratic and European orientation, and will
probably continue to move in that direction. As we see below, the

Property, assessment models

One of the reasons for rising real estate prices in Ukraine are:

be more generalized analysis of business opportunities.

Ukrainian factory buildings and modernization of equipment

Business: manufacture plastic films used for packaging candy,

agricultural bagging and packaging, containers of dairy products
(bags), packaging, detergents, food packaging, etc. (Ukraine has a
vast field of food processing.)

Amount required: $ 6 - $ 10 million to upgrade facilities and
equipment. (Potential for joint venture.)

Market: The manufacturer is looking for a position the company to
benefit from two market opportunities. The first is manufacturing
packaging to customer specifications allow for direct sale to the

The most interesting job advertisements in the English language is the
site of the Kyiv Post and the weekly editions of the newspaper Kyiv
Post. However, you will notice that the focus is on jobs for locals
speaking English, not foreigners. The largest audience Kyiv Post is an
English-speaking Ukrainians. Positions are advertised tend to be
prestigious businesses and organizations. Most jobs are high profile.

Ukrainian law requires foreigners to register their passports in Ukraine

within 3 months of their arrival (in the last 6 months for citizens of the
United States and possibly in some other countries). Registration is
valid for up to 6 months and may be extended. The purpose of
registration is for the state to know is you, and make sure there is a
donor or calling party may be fine if they break laws on immigration. In
addition, you will need your passport to register to register as a private
entrepreneur, or create legal entities.

where you live in Ukraine.
Requirements for registration
The actual registration process can be time consuming itself. The
forms you need depends on the type of visa. If you have a private
visa, you will only need forms for you and the person calling you home
or where you live on. If you have a business or service visa, you will
need a form for you, for the person whose house you live in, and the
organization will be invited.
Employers hiring foreign workers and obtain a work permit usually
take care of passport registration as well. In addition, there are
services that will cater for all the formalities for you, saving you many
visits to OVIR and local utility services ("ZHEK").
To submit your passport to a private visa, you will need:
• 2 photos
• a copy of your passport (including visa page and the latest entry
stamp)
• passport of the person calling
• your form and format of the call party
• proof of payment of registration fees (probably 33 UAH, or $ 6.50
USD), which you usually pay a bank next to or inside the building
OVIR
You need to ask the officers to OVIR the exact amount of payment
and where to do so. There will also be a small handling fee bank of 5
UAH or less.
Confirm these conditions officers OVIR before bringing your
documents for recording. May require additional documents, for
example, a lease agreement or a stamp ZHEK (local housing office
utilities) on the implementation of the calling party.
Seal the ZHEK
The purpose of this stamp is to confirm that ZHEK know that someone
else will live in this address. The ZHEK is responsible for utilities and
building maintenance, as well as issuing passports to citizens of
Ukraine and anything related to establishing residence in a particular
location.
Trying to get into ZHEK may take several attempts and should be

the "alien" in his passport as well, and may or may not require the
homeowner to fill out another form that says you can stay in their
apartment through a certain date. The ZHEK must know the number
of people living in the apartment, to compute the cost of utilities for the
apartment. As a result, many homeowners are not thrilled about
having to register a foreign (or any rentors) office ZHEK.
If you are in Ukraine on a business, service, or other type of visa other
than the requirements listed above should also:
• a completed form from your organization call
• a copy (not notarized is fine) organization or government company
registration certificate (indicating when and where the organization
was registered and legal address and name of official)
• a copy (not notarized is fine) organization or business license bureau
of statistics (as shown in the organization of activity)
IMPORTANT: The purpose of the registration forms for requesting
parties is to make sure that someone will pay for breaches of
immigration law and deport you if the case may be. These parties
should not necessarily be the same parties will be invited for a visa
you. It can technically be any organization or individual who is willing
to take administrative responsibility for you while you are in Ukraine.

Tips for Business Travelers in Ukraine
Visas:
Canadians do not need visas to enter Ukraine if you do not intend to
stay there for more than 90 days. In this case, it is strongly

Under the Constitution of Ukraine, foreigners have equal rights and

obligations in employment relations with citizens of the state.
Meanwhile, the fact that an alien will generally have to get a work
permit to be eligible for employment in Ukraine is a certain peculiarity
of the situation of foreign workers. This process is governed by
existing labor laws of Ukraine and other legislative acts of Ukraine.
Foreign nationals may immigrate to Ukraine is temporarily employed
and working in accordance with a duly issued license.
The policy of issuing no less interesting than the specific list of
documents should be submitted authoritative bodies.
Work permits granted to foreign circumstances are not employees,

Decision to grant a work permit or reject an application should be
delivered 30 days later.

contracts with foreign policy. Parties are free to enter into an
agreement to choose a partner, and determine the terms of the
contract. Consequently, a company may enter into any civil contract
with a foreigner for the provision of services.
Salary is paid in foreign currency of Ukraine. Meanwhile, employers
should not forget about paying taxes and various fees. Currently the
tax rate on income from wages, regardless of the source of payment,
payable in a foreign employer is 15% of the tax base. Insurance fees
must also be considered.
Under current law, each company must pay all fees from the salary of
an alien in the manner and in accordance with the rates down for
citizens of Ukraine, except to pay for the state compulsory social
insurance case of unemployment.

These are all rubish. managed to establish laws on same pay as
local. I would suggest you to hear, but everyone makes their own
inquiries you too.

Glue Christmas card or graphic to the CD that covers the hole in the
center.
Put Glitter Aleene snow around the edges and at various points on or
near the graphic you want to look like snow.
Let it dry and you're ready!

Trash white card
Red and gold tinted paper mulberry
Gold Wire
Pearl White card

Peel-off "Merry Christmas" sticker

Directions:
1. Cut two squares of white card from the card fragments,
approximately 4 x 4 cm (1.5 ").
2. Covers the red mulberry paper and stamped down with glue.

5. Tear, cut and stick red strips of paper mulberry, pearl and gold card
