St. Gregory the Great
Surely you do not think that it was a pure accident that that chosen disciple was missing;
who on his return was told about the appearance and on hearing about it doubted;
doubting, so that he might touch and believe by touching? It was not an accident; God
arranged that it should happen. His clemency acted in this wonderful way so that through
the doubting disciple touching the wounds in his Master’s body, our own wounds of
incredulity might be healed. …And so the disciple, doubting and touching, was changed
into a witness of the truth and of the Resurrection.

• Last Sunday’s attendance was 63 souls, collection was 1343.00 total (tithes: 1238,
Bishop’s Appeal: 75 flowers: , Home Missions: 15, other: 15). May our Lord God
reward you abundantly for your generosity.
• Thank you all for sharing your goodies for our hospitality on Easter Sunday.
• Hospitality sign-up sheet: for the two following Sundays (Apr 18, 25th), we will have
pot luck lunch, since the Holy Wisdom parish will join us for Sunday celebration and
lunch afterwards. Please talk to Margaret Dean, who coordinates pot luck for our
parish. After lunch, we will have singing practice for Moleben. After April 25th, we will
resume our schedule for hospitality, please sign up.

• Save the date! Ukrainian parish of Holy Wisdom invited us to participate in short
presentation of byzantine liturgical prayer during month of May (May 2, 16, 23).
Together with Knights of Columbus and Holy Wisdom parish, we will organize prayer
people to help with singing, if interested, see cantor Gene Ford, we’ll have to meet to
practice few times. The event will take place at Christ the King Retreat Center in Citrus
Heights (6520 Van Maren Lane), on Sunday at 3:30 PM, outdoors – good way to spend
afternoon with kids. You can invite friends and family.
• Bishop’s Appeal 2010. Please, return your pledge cards to the office.
• Summer Pilgrimage 2010. Eparchy of Phoenix is organizing a pilgrimage to Ukraine
and Slovakia, dates are: July 30-August 9, for more information see the announcement
board at the entrance to the church, or contact Fr. Francis.
• The Knights of Columbus are inviting all Catholic to participate in a novena for our
Holy Father Benedict XVI to manifest our prayerful solidarity with him at this time of
unprecedented challenge. The Novena begins on Thomas Sunday, April 11 and ends on

Prayer for Pope Benedict XVI.:
Lord, source of eternal life and truth; give to your shepherd, Benedict, a
spirit of courage and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge and love. By
governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care, may he, as successor to
the Apostle Peter and Vicar of Christ, build your Church into a sacrament
of unity, love, and peace for all the world. Amen.
Let us pray for Benedict, the Pope. May the Lord preserve him, give him
long life, make him blessed upon the earth, and not hand him over to his
enemies. May your hand be upon your holy servant, and upon your son,
whom you have anointed.
