Introduction

Like many other right-thinking people, I have been horrified by

the malice of the Nazis and have often wondered how man
could descend to committing atrocities that beasts wouldn't
approve of. And sometime back, when I watched Mark Herman's
2008 flick The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, I was stuck by the
innocent rapport between the Jewish boy and the son of the
concentration camp's commandant.

Much later, a thought stuck me — just as little kids are

adamant about eating lollipops come what may, the Nazis were
inflexible about killing Jews no matter what. Horrifyingly,
there is the same child-like insistence that the master race
should be pure. Just as a child will not care about precious
fragile plates of china while trying to reach for the cookie jar,
the Nazis killed millions because they wanted racial purity with
the same child-like stubbornness.
Mention the word "cruel" in a meeting of Vedic astrologers and
the usual suspects will pop up — Sani, Kuja, Rahu and Ketu, and
perhaps even Surya. But few would accuse Budha of cruelty.
And yet, this document is dedicated to exactly this topic for a
simple reason — Budha is associated with cruelty because he
rules discrimination. An affliction of Budha means that this
faculty is lost. The person then loses the conception of what is
right and what is wrong. Of course, for this to happen, Budha
needs to be afflicted, which usually happens when he gets
involved with malefics.
Curiously, people who lose their discrimination are still clever
to the point of brilliance. As Dr Norbert Kampe1, Director,
House of the Wannsee Conference writes:

The 15 participants at the conference were among the elite of

the National Socialist regime. Their biographies show that
many had completed an academic education and had brilliant
careers.

In an article2, Rabbi Eliahu Ellis & Rabbi Shmuel Silinsky write:

The drafted document contained sixteen signatures from all

the upper ministries of the German establishment. Of these
sixteen signators, eight had PhDs. By the way, Poland was
divided up into six governments; all six of the German / Polish
governors had PhDs. Of the concentration camp officers, 43%
of them had either MDs or PhDs. One of the Einsatz Gruppen
commanders, Ohlendorf had a degree in law by age 21. He was
a genius. Goebbels, the propaganda minister, had 3 PhDs. He
was a brilliant intellectual.

These men were cruel for various reasons, and it is not correct
to blame one graha — or even all the nava grahas. This is
because all of us ultimately have to experience the fruits of our
karmas. Though one likes to visualize oneself as carrying a Bren
gun and shooting all the Nazis who were responsible for such a
bloody mess, one should renounce violence.

So, without further moralizing or preaching, let us take a cold,

Comments

1. Budha occupies the rasi of a natural benefic three

times, but he is still afflicted by at least two malefics
2. PKY doesn't seem to play a major role because in 7
cases Budha escapes this affliction
3. In five cases, Budha occupies star of a natural benefic;
but the advantage is nullified because of any one of (a)
PKY; (b) conjunction with malefics; (c) aspect of
malefics
4. In g (Franz Rademacher) all the malefics afflict Budha
5. In all the cases, there are at least two ways in which
Budha is afflicted
Closing thoughts

A person who is cruel while being stupid may be easily dealt

with; in any case, his damage is bound to be limited. But a
clever person who uses his intelligence to inflict cruelty can
have a terrible impact not only on his immediate surroundings
but also on the fabric of history itself.

The nodes, Rahu and Ketu, are said to find Mithuna and Kanya,
the houses owned by Budha, comforting. This could be because
Budha, like the nodes, takes on the qualities of those he
associates with. And in the charts discussed here, the natural
malefics — Sani, Surya, Kuja and Ketu — seem to use this to
advantage by coupling their cruelty with the intelligence of
Budha to create havoc of a kind that they cannot achieve on
such a large scale on their own.
