Supported Platforms and Pro/ENGINEER Releases

Following are the hardware platforms, operating system levels and the minimum
Pro/ENGINEER release required to run the CETOL 6 v8.1 client software and Sigmetrix
License Manager.

For WF2.0 and WF4.0, the Pro/E release code represents the specific release of Pro/ENGINEER
that CETOL 6 v8.1 for Pro/ENGINEER was built against. Connecting CETOL 6 v8.1 to older
builds of Pro/ENGINEER is possible, but is not recommended. (NOTE: the CETOL Wildfire 4.0
release is a separate installer and binary from the CETOL for Wildfire 2.0/3.0 release. It will
NOT work with Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 2.0/3.0, or vice-versa.)

Version 8.1.0
GD&T Support
CETOL now supports modeling and analysis of GD&T, equivalent to the GD&T support in v7.2.
The GD&T implementation is based on the current ASME and ISO standards, and includes all
location and orientation controls and all DRF cases. The GD&T implementation is fully
integrated into the existing CETOL functionality, including visualize sensitivities, quality metric
calculation, variation rules, statistical analysis, worst-case analysis, etc.

v8.1 for Pro/ENGINEERTM

CETOL v7.2 Model Import
CETOL now supports full import of v7.2 models. If CETOL detects v7.x data in a Pro/E model
during synchronization, the CETOL File menu will include a Save Version 7 Model to File
option. This option will export the 7.x model to a v8.1 CXM file. The user can then import that
.cxm file to initialize the v8.1 model with that CXM file. Any exceptions that occur during the
import are clearly summarized for the user. (NOTE: due to the substantial technology differences
between v8.x and v7.x, most imported v7.x models will require some final user clean-up,
especially to resolve over-constraints. Please refer to the CETOL training materials for guidance
in resolving any problems in the imported models.)

Wildfire 4.0 Support

CETOL now supports the Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 4.0 release.

External Width to External Width Joint Attachment

CETOL now supports both tangent and tangent opposite setting for joints between two external
width features.

Visualize Sensitivity
The CETOL modeler provides a new utility to view how the model responds to variations in a
specific dimension variable. The user specifies the measures to investigate, the variable to vary,
and the range of the variable. CETOL provides a plot of each measures response to the variable
and allows the user to animate the positions of the parts in the Pro/E window as the variable
value changes.

Model Advisor View

The CETOL modeler provides a new utility to view all the current errors and potential problems
in the tolerance model. Each element of the tolerance model that has an error is listed in the
Advisor view, with a description of the problem. The user is able to select and repair the model
element directly in the Advisor View.

Export & Import Tolerance Model Data

The entire CETOL model, including results, can be saved off to an external file. The external file
can be read into the CETOL software in stand-alone mode, imported into another revision of the
CAD model, or imported into a similar CAD model and repaired.

Re-Engineered Analyzer

Customizable Analyzer Layouts the Analyzer window is now based on user-defined

layouts. The user can define different layouts and customize the contents, sorting, and
filtering of each layout. The layouts can be saved and re-used each time the analyzer
window is opened.

v8.1 for Pro/ENGINEERTM

Requesting a CETOL 6 License File
If you are running CETOL 6 v7.x and you are current on Maintenance, you do not need a
new license file from Sigmetrix in order to run the CETOL 6 v8.1 software. CETOL v7.x
licenses still within their maintenance period will run the v8.1 software.
To request a CETOL 6 license file:
1. Obtain the host ID for the computer that will act as the license server. A utility for finding the
host ID is provided with the software distribution. To find the host ID of a specific Windows
machine, unzip the download file on the machine and run the lmhostid.bat batch file.
Do not use the PTC host ID or the cpu_id utilities to obtain the host id. Those methods may
not give the correct host ID, which will cause the license file generated to not work.
2. Send the license file request to cetollicense@sigmetrix.com. Include the license server host
ID.

Installing the CETOL Software

You must install the software using an account with Administrator privileges. To install or
update the software, run the setup.exe install program and follow the installer prompts.
Detailed instructions for CETOL 6 v8.1 installation and license management are located in the
User Reference Manual (available from the CETOL Help menu). A summary of that information
is included below.
If you already have a v7.x Sigmetrix License Manager running on the machine where you
will install CETOL v8.1, you can use it as is to run v8.1. Select the CETOL (client
software) install option. The installer will detect the existing v7.x Sigmetrix License
Manager and offer to use it for the v8.1 client software choose Yes to do so.
If you are setting up a new Sigmetrix License Server on a computer, select the License
install option and follow the prompts to setup the Sigmetrix License Manager. You will
need a license file for the machine you are installing on.
The CETOL 6 v8.1 installer does not allow you to install over a v7.x installation.

Known Issues in Current Release

The following are issues known to be present in the latest build of CETOL 6 v8.1 for
Pro/ENGINEER:
CQDB00003005 Application prompts to save unchanged parts/assemblies on
disconnect or exit.
CQDB00003827 The Analyzer layout contents do not always update when the model
or the layout definition is modified. Press the Refresh Layout button on the Analyer
toolbar to force the layout to update.
CQDB00005249 Wrong DOFs on Config panel if the config is not the active object.
