Representations
We have eight characters in our opening sequence. To a certain extent we wanted to
include some codes and conventions so that it would be obvious to our audience that
it is the opening sequence of an action film.

Character Representations:
Protagonist Chief (Billy Gravestock)
Gender- Chief is represented as a stereotypical male protagonist who is much
superior to the rest of the males. We see this through his actions as he decides
everything going on with his gang for example the Chief does not do any work as he
is the boss. Also he has a shotgun which emphasises the power he has over his
gang.

Race- Chief is of a Caucasian race and therefore it is stereotypical that he is

represented as a protagonist as the majority of the British population is Caucasian.
Age- Chief is represented an young adult around the age of 22-27, there are no
stereotypes regarding age.

Disability- Chief does not show any sign of physical or mental disabilities although
his personality comes across is very intimidating which adds to the stereotype of
males being superior.

Sexuality- In the sequence it is not clear if Chief is heterosexual or homosexual, we

did not think it was relevant to our film.
