Inspection of Static & rotating equipment

Preparation, review and approval of documents about InspectionTest Plan of the project
to ensure inspection shall be in accordance with the requiredQuality Standard and
Procedures.
Execute and develop quality audit of Sub-contractorsinspection documentation works for
Static and Rotating Equipments to assurethat the required forms used in testing submitted
are approved by clientrepresentative as per ITP such as:

Installation checklist for static/rotatingequipments

Leveling / alignment recording forms forhorizontal, vertical, package type

Axial/radial, soft foot, parallelism forms forpumps and compressors.

Regular surveillance checking at site to ensure thatall comments had appropriate

corrective action such as:

Verify the preservation requirements foranchor bolts during construction stage.

Check the physical condition of anchor boltsand leveling of foundations before

erection of equipments.
Check preservation status of equipments atsite and storage area to ensure the
requirements of client and vendor are donesuch as rust prevention to equipment
especially offshore area, monitor thenitrogen purging requirements for vessels and
compressors, rotation ofshafting, oil filling and cleaning of equipments.

Verify all materials which required for indoorand outdoor storage.

Ensure to have a preservation log for all theequipments checked and monitor daily /
weekly for easily tracking the status.
Confirm that all instruments used foralignment and leveling by subcontractor are
calibrated with stickers indicatedthe date of calibration and re-calibration.

Verify the erection of equipments such ascompressors, drivers, diesel equipments,

vessels and other equipment if theyfollow the Method of Statement.

Check the shimming requirements forstatic/rotating equipments.

Check and monitor the grouting preparation ofall equipments ready for grouting
and verify the preparation requirements suchas pre-watering of foundation, chipping,
cleaning and form works requirements.

Ensure that inspection areas are safe forworking with required level of safety.

Verify condition of axial/radial withoutpiping prior for preparation for piping

installation.

Verify piping support and test acceptanceprior for final alignment.

Follow up implementation of corrective actionregarding quality issues on the project.

Settle effective procedures for the satisfactoryperformance of the work in accordance
with quality control and inspection testplan.
Routine inspection of construction activities ofStatic / Rotating equipment and HVAC
works step by step to ensure that therequirements in the drawing and specification are
met and that all the worksare carried out in good workmanship.
Perform inspection with the vendor and clientrepresentative to demonstrate or shown
compliance with the requirements duringfabrication and construction stage such as:
Check Static / Rotating and HVAC equipmentarrive at site shall have each
equipment tag number and name plate. Visualinspection for any damage cause during
transportation. Dimensional inspectionas per design order.
Verify the release note of civil about foundationready preparation for alignment and
leveling. Checked setting of padding plates,sole plates or mounting plates and verify the
elevation and coordinates for X Y axis preparation for erection. Checked anchor bolt
projection and anchor boltcentering as per equipment requirements.

Check equipment orientation before and aftererection.

Witness the leveling / verticality checking ofhorizontal and vertical equipment prior
for grouting and for piping erection.Verification of anchor bolt tightening prior for

grouting. Issue a release noteto civil and piping respectively after alignment / leveling
and verify againthe anchor bolt final tightening.
Preliminary alignment of rotating equipmentssuch as pumps, compressors, gear
box, turbine, blowers, diesel engine andothers. Check the soft foot of motors shimming
condition. Check the axial /radial alignment (angular alignment) or shaft alignment @
cold condition usingdial gauge or laser equipment. Check the distance shaft ends (DBSE)
@ coldcondition and pre stretch especially for rotating equipments with gearbox.
Checkthe skid leveling in regards to base of motors and pumps. Check the anchor
bolttightening of skid prior for grouting, piping installation to suction anddischarge.
Verify the parallelism on suction / discharge pipingconnection if stress free
condition. Checked before and after suction anddischarge pipe are assembled to pump or
compressor.
Internal inspection of vessels horizontal / verticalequipments and check the internal
attachment required such as demister, trays(odd / even trays) valve caps, down comer
plate, filter cartridge, distributorsand others. Check internal cleanliness of vertical and
horizontal vessel priorfor equipment temporary or final box-up. Verify the final gasket to
beinstalled during final box-up.
Checked external attachment such as platforms,ladders, support and instruments are
installed and inspected.
Reviewed Method of Statement prepared bysubcontractors regarding construction
activities that will guide them to ConstructionActivities.
Provide early warning of potential quality problemof Static/Rotating and HVAC
equipments during fabrication and installation.
Support contractor to maximum extent, possible tomake contractor successful.
Input contractors daily accomplishment aboutconstruction and inspection activities of
Static/Rotating and HVAC equipments.
Coordinate and engage the support services ofengineering and vendors for some cases
encountered at fabrication / site whichrequired their immediate decision and action.
