The 485+ (A) of one controller is connected to 485+ (A) of the next controller using one
wire of the first twisted pair.
The 485- (B) of one controller is connected to 485- (B) of the next controller using the
other wire of the first twisted pair.
On a loop that contains all NetAXS-123 controllers the 485 COM is not connected. If
connected it will introduce ground loops into the system. In the NetAXS-123, the Earth
Ground and board COMMON are tied together.
The shield is only connected on one end of the cable, not both.
The 485+ (A) of one controller is connected to 485+ (A) of the next controller using one
wire of the first twisted pair.
The 485- (B) of one controller is connected to 485- (B) of the next controller using the
other wire of the first twisted pair.
On a loop that contains all NetAXS-4 controllers the 485 COM is connected, the 2nd pair
of the wires are twisted together and connected to 485 COM on the controller.
The shield is only connected on one end of the cable, not both.

The 485- (B) of one controller is connected to 485- (B) of the next controller using the

On a loop that contains both NetAXS-123 and NetAXS-4 panels (mixed loop) the 2nd pair
of wires are twisted together and connected to RS-485 COM on the NetAXS-4 controller
to the RS-485 COM of the next NetAXS-4 controller in the loop.
Do not connect the RS-485 COM on the NetAXS-123 controllers. The RS-485 COM is bypassed on the NetAXS-123 controller.
The shield is only connected on one end of the cable, not both.

Using twisted pair, the first pair (usually red and black wires) is connected to 485+ and 485respectfully. The second pair (usually green and white) is not connected to COM and should be
covered with electrical tape.

COM. Note in the figure above the white wire is purple in color for easy viewing.

Using twisted pair, the first pair (usually red and black wires) is connected to 485+ and 485respectfully. The second pair (usually green and white) are twisted together and connected to
COM with the exception of the NetAXS-123 controller where the common is bypassed. Note in
the figure above the white wire is purple in color for easy viewing.
