Engineer Gustavo Aybar, a professor of different courses on structures,
will probably have his contract suspended after have been accused of “irresponsibility and
lack4 of professional ethics5” by the student Jorge Coral. In a formal demand made by this
student in March, he accused engineer Aybar of professional misconduct. Since then, the
Faculty Council6 have met7 at least two times to discuss the topic. According to the Students
Center (CEA), professor Aybar has been suspended temporarily for the rest of the academic
semester, and the School of Architecture (EPA) is said to be investigating the case. Despite all
of this, professor Aybar is still attending classes.

Renovation works started last week on
the CEA’s headquarters. The
refurbishment8 includes the
construction of a new pavement9, the
installation of a parquet floor and the
redecoration of walls and ceiling10.
