EASTER SUNDAY THE RESURRECIION OF THE LORD

MARCH 27, 2016

Divine Mercy
Sunday April 3rd
Prayer Service and
Devotion at St. John

FROM THE PASTORS DESK

This man God RAISED THAT WHOEVER

BELIEVES IN HIM WILL RECEIVE FORGIVENESS
(Acts 10: 40, 43)
Dear parishioners:
This year of mercy has been incredibly fruitful and life-giving.
We are not yet half way into it and its prospects look very good.
I feel we are already reaping the merciful harvest of sacramental
forgiveness and charitable works of mercy. On the one hand, as
a priest, is so uplifting to hear so many heart-felt confessions. I
cant help but feel the call to be holier and more generous in my
priestly service. On the other hand, our PMOs are a constant
prodding from God to reach out to those in need. Like early in
March our encounter with the family who will move into the
house we helped build under the Habitat for Humanity umbrella
was so fulfilling. It reminds me of the Scripture passage from 1
Peter 4, Love covers a multitude of sins. Early in April our
visit to this orphanage for games and lunch with the children
brings lasting fruits of love, care and companionship.
This man God raised from the dead is God Incarnate, alive
among us through his Spirit. May this Easter season be for each
and everyone of us a thrilling experience of the presence of the
risen Christ in our midst. Like our beloved Pope Francis
reminds us, may we never get tired of forgiving and being
merciful because God never tires of being so good to us
unconditionally.
This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in
it. Alleluia!
Happy Easter!

Jesus, I Trust in
You!

Neumann will be from

3:00pm to 4:00pm in the
Church

Jesus said to St. Faustina: My daughter,

tell the whole world about my
inconceivable mercy. I desire that the
Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for
all souls, and especially for poor sinners.
I promise that the soul that will venerate
this image will not perish.
Whoever approaches the Fountain of Life
on this day will be granted complete
forgiveness of sins and punishment.
Come and give thanks to God for his great
gift of Mercy upon the whole world this
special day!

St. Peter-St. Joseph Childrens Home, affectionately

referred to as St. PJs, is a social service agency
operating under the Archdiocese of San Antonio as an
independent 501(c) 3 non-profit. The mission of St.
PJs is to serve the needs of children and families by
providing a safe, nurturing community to heal body,
mind and spirit, shape successful adults, and break the
cycle of abuse and neglect.
Please join us in being a witness to mercyby
reflecting Gods mercifulness, Gods loving and
compassionate heart to His beautiful children residing
at St. PJs. Our Project of Mercy is spending some
quality timeinteracting and socializing with the
International Youth; approximately 65 children,
mostly from South America.
From 9-11:30am our group of volunteers will play
games with the children and help them enjoy
themselves and have some funmaking hand-made
Rosaries, other arts & crafts, decorating cupcakes,
playing BINGO and other board games. We will then
serve a B.B.Q. lunch from 11:30-12:30pm; afterwards
cleanup and head back about 1:30pm.
If you would like to volunteer, please call/text me @
(210) 845-6695 or email me @
salnsonia@hotmail.com. Volunteers must be at least
14 years old. You can also call the Parish Office at

We will meet in the front parking lot of SJN between
8 8:15am; and then all caravan and/or carpool to St.
PJs at 919 Mission Road, San Antonio, TX 78210.
Lets all please encourage one another, our family and
friends, each of our brothers and sisters sitting next to
us at Mass to heed the call and participate in this Year
of Mercy.

Name:

MARCH 27, 2016

Working for a just distribution
of the fruits of the earth and
human labor is not human
philanthropy. It is a moral
obligation. For Christians, the
responsibility is even greater:
it is a commandment.
Pope Francis

Volunteer Invitation:
Become a Soul Friend
*To meet people where they are for who they are
*Ministry of presence
*Deep listening and potential prayer
Soul Friends offer presence and possibly prayer
at Intake, in the Chapels, in the lobby at the
Transformation Center and Prospects Courtyard.
Time spent together might be 3 minutes or 30
minutes, and there might well be no future
contact. The hopeful outcomes are experienced
hospitality and presence. Volunteers are free to
come at times that are best for their schedule.
There is much flexibility. Contact:
julie.hickey@havenforhope.org or
(210) 212-2920 for more information

The time you spend with Jesus in the Blessed

Sacrament is the best time you will spend on
earth. Each moment that you spend with Jesus
will deepen your union with Him and make your
soul everlastingly more glorious and beautiful in
Heaven, and will help bring about everlasting
PEACE on earth (Blessed Mother Teresa)
We are in need of serious committed Adorers in
our Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Please call
Barbara Clark for information and to sign up at
