Dear Sir,

The following drawings in two sheets were submitted to NER and were approved by
CBE/NER on 10th Nov.2015 with provision of semi through girder of 44.298 meter span
between A1 and P1.

In these drawings level of pile cap and foundation was not mentioned as practice of making
of GADs.
Further to the above approval, it was found during construction stage that the pile cap of the P1
was very deep. In order to construct the same it was required to do ddep excavation adjescent to
running track which was not safe. Hence the GADs were revised incorporating the revised level
of pile cap to get it approved for construction to NER and were approved by PMC vide letter
Dtd 7th Dec.2015 ( transmittal letter No. TB- 9- 408 ) . These revised GADs were also approved
by NER vide their letter no. W/29/421/Expressway/ROB/Misc./W-5 as Rev. 1. ( the copy of
NER letter is attached herewith as Annexure- ).
While designing the Span A1- P1 with overall span of 46 meters for ballasted deck for double
track in a single girder , it was observed that it was not feasible to attain the SOD clearances as
the depth girder was very high and having all other structures constructed it was not possible to
adjust the vertical levels of the girder. Hence the superstructure between A1 and P1 was
revised to double track through Girder structure which giving sufficient vertical clearance
between IR rail levels below.

However the double track superstructure of through girder design was required to be proof
checked by IIT Bombay as desired by PMC/DFCC and design of through type girder was
submitted to IIT Mumbai which was reviewed and approved by Prof Ravi Sinha vide his letter
26th Nov. 2015 ( copy attached herewith as annexure - ). The design of super structure is also
was submitted to PMC which also issued the GFC drawings of the same .
In light of the discussion with CPM /DFCC and Mr. VP Pandey, it was decided that the GADs
incorporating through type girder for A1- P1 span is required to be approved by NER . Hence
the Rev.H of these drawings of GADs have been prepared and are hereby submitted for
onward submission to NER for their concurrence of the these drawings and may seek approval
of CBE/ NER as Rev. 2 of the revised GADs of HT MJ2+3 .

An early action in line with discussions held during meeting 7th March and your discussion
with CBE/ NER shall be highly appreciated.
