Fundraiser for Youth Mission Trip - Silent Auction

Our upcoming silent auction at Zion will once again be the major source of fundraising for the youth
mission trip this summer (Crow Reservation, MT). You may drop off your donated items at church (leave in
the Narthex) starting on Wednesday, May 5th. Items and services that you think others would be interested
in having are most welcome. In the past these have included such things as gift baskets (full of chocolate,
beauty products, dog-lover items), exercise equipment, furniture, arts & crafts, a weekend at a lake home,
a 5-course dinner prepared for 4, a dozen caramel rolls each month, a DVD player, a TV, floral
arrangement, lawn mower, framed pictures, art work & pottery, valuable memorabilia, mini frig, movies on
DVD, baby/toddler clothing, a canoe, house cleaning services, and best-seller books. As you can see there
has been a wide collection of items and services that have been donated (and bid on!) in the past. If you
think that having mission trips is an important youth activity associated with Zion, please support our silent
auction through your generous donations and bidding. You can view and begin bidding on items Sunday,
May 9th. Bidding will end 30 minutes after the 11:00 a.m. service on Sunday, May 16th.

By crossing borders of race and culture, and by placing youth outside their comfort zones, our teens from
Zion are given a wonderful opportunity to follow the model of Christ, our servant leader (John 13), in
reaching out to minister to others in distant communities. By serving those in need, as Christ tells us to, the
youth also serve Christ Himself. -Doug Peters & Sue Carter, mission trip leaders

Sidewalk Sonday School – Volunteers & Donations Needed
From June 14-18 we will have Sidewalk Sonday School at Richards West Park. Games will begin at 4:45
p.m. and dinner will be at 5:15 p.m. After dinner, the music, lesson and crafts will be conducted by Dakota
Conference. The evening will be over at 7:30. What we need from Zion are “Shepherds” to help the
children & take part in their lesson. We also need donations of food (a sign up sheet will be available soon),
as well as housing and meals for the persons from the Dakotas Conference. Please contact the church
office if you have questions or if you would like to help with this community mission project.

Do you know a graduate?

If you know a high school or college graduate, please contact the church office with their name(s) so that
we may honor them on Sunday, May 16th.

Feed My Sheep – Senior High School Sunday School Class Food Drive
Zion’s Senior High Sunday School class will collect items for our local food pantry (St. Vincent DePaul’s)
