if link is showing down, you probaby need to visit the mtnl exchange, they have a switch for
every account and that switch goes off or this could be line problem.

many a times that the link goes down every few minutes and revives on its own. At times I have
complained to MTNL but though their lineman claims there is an issue as I have two line
connections as I have placed my modem in the bedroom. The only way to solve this is to have a
single line and place the phone and modem in one place have tried even that but no use.

Hi. I've been facing the same issue. Found a quick way to revive the adsl and internet lights,
though. Switch off your wifi router and switch it on. Pick up your landline and call 198. If an
automated voice starts talking, hang up. Your internet should come back on in a few
minutes.

frequent disconnection is sometimes related to router problems or MTNL Exchange.
You should borrow it from your friend and try change the router, if issue still persists then
you have to deal with MTNL and ask them to change the switch from exchange or change
line.
