THE NEGATIVES USE OF TOPICALITY IS A REPLICATION OF THE UNJUST
SYSTEM OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND POLITICS THAT WE SEE TODAY.
IT IS THESE SUBJECTIVE STANDARDS OF INCLUSION/EXCLUSION THAT
PRODUCE DECISIONS TO STEP ASIDE WHILE GENOCIDE IS CARRIED OUT
UNDER OUR NOSES IN RWANDA. THIS MINDSET OPENS UP JUSTIFICATION
FOR EXCLUDING ANY GROUP THAT IS NOT IN THE MAJORITY.
THEREFORE WE ASK YOU TO REJECT THOSE STANDARDS THAT THE NEGATIVE
HAS ARGUED FOR THE SAME REASONS THAT WE SHOULD NOT HAVE IGNORED
THE RWANDA GENOCIDE. WE CAN MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION ON THIS ISSUE
THIS TIME AROUND AND VOTING AFFIRMATIVE IS THE WAY TO DO THAT.
AND,
AS JOEL KOVEL EXPLAINS, THE EXCLUSION BASED ON TECHNICALITIES ARE
KEY TO DEFINING THE OTHER. IN THE NUCLEAR AGE, THIS OTHERIZATION IS
THE BASIS FOR THERMONUCLEAR DESTRUCTION THAT WILL END HISTORY
ITSELF - REJECT THE RACIST JUSTIFICATION THAT THE NEGATIVE ENDORSES!

As people become dehumanized, the states become more powerful and warlike.
Metaracism signifies the triumph of technical reasoning in the racial sphere. The
same technocracy applies to militirization in general, where it has led to the
inexorable drive toward thermonuclear weaponry and the transformation of the
state into the nuclear state. There is an indubitable although largely obscure, link
between the inner dynamic of a society, including its racism and the external
projection of social violence. Both involve actions taken toward an Other, a term
we may define as the negation of the socially affirmed self. Communist, black, new
-- all have been Other to the white west. The Jew has, for a while at least, stepped
outside of the role thanks to the integration of Israel within the nations of the west
leaving the black and the communist to suffer the respective technocratic violences
of metaracism and thermonuclear deterrence. Since the initial writing of WHITE
RACISM, these closely linked phenomena have grown enormously. Of course,
there is a
major, cataclysmic difference between the types of technocratic domination.
Metaracism can be played out quite a while longer. Indeed, since it is a racism that
proceeds on the basis of anti-racism, it appears to capable of a vastly greater
degree of integration than either dominative or

aversive racism, at least under the firmly entrenched conditions of late capitalist
society. Thermonuclear deterrence, on the other hand, has already decayed into
the apocalyptic logic of first strike capability or counterforce means of pursuing
nuclear war, which threatens to put an end to history itself. Thus, the nuclear
crisis is now the leading item on the global agenda. If it is not resolved, civiliztiojn
will be exterminated while if it is resolved, the terms of society and the state will
undoubtedly be greatly altered. This will of course profoundly affect the racial
situation. At the same time, the disposition of racism will play a key role in the
outcome of the nuclear crisis. For one thing, the effectiveness of an antinuclear
movement will depend heavily on its ability to involve people of all races -- I
contrast its present makeup, which is almost entirely white and middle class. To
achieve such mobilization and carry it through, however the movement will have to
be able to make the linkages between militarization and racial oppression very
clearly and forcefully. For if the third, and last, world war becomes thermonuclear,
it will most likely be in a place defined by racial opposition.

OUR POSITION IS QUITE SIMPLE: THE NEGATIVE REPLICATES AND
CONTINUES A SYSTEM OF ANALYSIS THAT HAS JUSTIFIED GENOCIDE
AND HAS NO PLACE IN POLICYMAKING. WE ASK THAT THE NEGATIVE
BE REJECTED IN THIS ROUND FOR OPENING UP JUSTIFICATION FOR
RACISM WHICH WILL END UP IN THERMONUCLEAR EXTINCTION AS THE
KOVEL 88 CARD FROM THE SHELL EXPLAINS. WE ARE IN A UNIQUE
PLACE TO CHALLENGE THE ASSUMPTIONS THAT WERE MADE IN THE
DECISION CALCULUS THAT ALLOWED THE RWANDA GENOCIDE. IT IS
TIME FOR US TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND END THIS FLAWED
DECISION CALCULUS -- OUR EXTINCTION IMPACT WILL OUTWEIGH
ANYTHING THAT THE NEGATIVE CAN THROW AT US OR AT LEAST
OUTWEIGHS ALL VOTERS THEY CLAIM. RACISM SHOULD BE THE OVERRIDING POLITICAL AGENDA AND THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO VOTE.
