Mining and Geological Engineering for the last four years, working with other Mining and Geological
Engineers with the tasks and responsibilities focusing on finding, extracting, and preparing coal,
metals, and minerals;designing open pits and underground mines, often using computers; supervising
the building and construction of mine shafts and tunnels in underground processes; and devising
techniques for the transportation of minerals to their processing plant sites; taking responsibility for
the safe, low cost, and environmentally sound operation of mines ( see my resume for the detail ).

I am writing to apply for the position of open pit mine geologist, as advertised on GeoCareers.com.
I have completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geology from Stonecutters University, and am currently
completing my honours degree with a thesis on gold recovery at the Eclipse Mine.
Currently working as a Mine Geologist (Graduate) at Eclipse, I have gained first-hand experience in mineral analysis
while working in a fast-paced environment. I was offered this role after previously working with the company as
an Exploration Field Assistant, where I was responsible for core preparation, including marking measurements,
photographing and sampling. Since coming on board, I have shown I am able to clearly communicate and collaborate
with senior staff and effectively draw on my high level knowledge of minerals and mining processes.
During my time as a Grade Control Assistant at GeoStrata, I gained valuable experience in grade control, ROM
management, ore body definition and geomodelling (design, planning and scheduling). I was able to demonstrate
my capacity to work effectively in a team and was involved in a major project to transition across to a new computer
software program.
In addition, the experience I have gained while at Eclipse has strengthened my leadership, time management
and dispute resolution skills. I have learnt how to motivate team members to work towards shared goals. These
community-focused positions have also demonstrated my ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of
people.
My communication and interpersonal skills are excellent, and I am an efficient team player with the ability to adhere to
and follow occupational health and safety procedures. I have demonstrated experience working without guidance to

a high standard, and achieving results in a timely and professional manner. I am also proficient in essential geology
software, including InSite, ROM management, MineSight, Acquire, GIS, and Microsoft Word and Excel.
