Dear Friends,

You may have heard that Ron Dart, my husband, tripped on the hearth in our family room, fell, and ended up with
a gash above his left eye. Since he has a history of atrial fibrillation, his cardiologist had put him on Coumadin, a
blood thinner. As one might expect, Ron had a concussion and a fair amount of bleeding. The good news is that
now the bleeding has stopped and today he was able to follow the nurse’s commands to wiggle his toes and
fingers. He is recovering in a local hospital where he is getting excellent care.

We’ve been inundated with phone calls and emails letting us know that you are praying for Ron. Words
cannot express our gratitude for your loving concerns and continued prayers. Our great God has certainly heard
your prayers and I urge you to continue to earnestly pray that God will shorten Ron’s recovery time and heal him
completely. Updates on Ron’s condition are available at www.caringbridge.org/visit/rondart/journal.

In the meantime, since Ron already has some 900 plus Born to Win programs in the can, the broadcast will
continue to go out, with timely messages clearly explaining the Bible and teaching the Gospel of Christ. The staff
at CEM will continue to do an excellent job in seeing to it that your orders are filled, questions are answered, and
your needs are met. The materials CEM offers are extensive. These don’t do any good on the shelf. It’s only
when they are read or heard and applied that they obtain the intended results. We want you to have them. So
please don’t hesitate to let us know what your needs are and how we can help.

Because of Ron’s accident, we regret that it has become necessary to cancel the Branson Memorial Day
Retreat. Those of you who have made reservations should cancel them immediately. You have until April 27 to
get a full refund on your deposit.

Ron recently made a most important broadcast that I want you to have FREE of charge with no obligation. It is
titled, In His Name. Do you know the importance of care and respect for what you do or ask, “in his name”?
This has to be a lot more than a matter of how we pronounce his name, or even knowing what his name is. Jesus
did not tell us to pray to Jehovah or Yahweh. He gave us permission to address him as Father—Abba, in the
vernacular.

Just as in marriage, we can only carry God’s name if we are in covenant with him. You may call yourself a
Christian, and many did in those early days. But if they were not in covenant with him, they did not carry his
name. The covenant of God with Israel, or with Christ and the church, is not truly a marriage covenant. There are
passages that seem to say that, but they are metaphors. And the metaphor works, because marriage and the
relationship we have with Christ are both covenants. It is, I fear, all too easy for God’s people to make
assumptions about their relationship with him. It seems we profane God’s name, not by pronouncing it in Greek or
English, but by giving him less than our best.

back to us.

Regretfully, a number of you have had illnesses and even deaths in the family. You are our family and we hurt
when you hurt. You are in our daily prayers. Every one of you is very special to us. It’s difficult to tell you how
thankful we are for your love, support, and concern. They really make a difference! Please stand by us in this
time, keep the prayers going to our loving God, and let us know how we can serve you.

Much love and gratitude,

Allie Dart

Treaty with the Devil - You’d never make a treaty with the devil, would you? We know the devil is our
enemy, and no matter what he promises, we know he means us only harm. But sometimes we are willing to make
compromises with him, or his minions. Jesus said the gate was narrow and only a few find the way that leads to
life. Why do people listen to false teachers and false prophets? How can you recognize them? Jesus said there will
be those who have done marvelous works to whom He will say, “I never knew you.” Find out what Jesus said we
must do to win the race that is set before us.

Bitterness of Peace - What is the most consistent, subtle lie perpetuated by every politician of every stripe
in every society in the world? The idea of a “peace process.” We need to understand that there are people out
there in the world who want death and destruction and they love it more than life. To them, peace talks are an
instrument of war. What does God promise to those who make false predictions of peace? Why can’t the world
find its way to peace? What about our society and culture today is like that of Israel before the captivity? Find out
how you can have peace in a world that it is at war.

Real Worship - What did Jesus mean when he said to the Samaritan woman at the well, “God is a spirit: and
they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth”? Worship is easy. It’s easy to pretend to worship.
The religious jargon is easy to learn. But it is not that easy to learn to worship in truth. Why do the 24 elders who
surround the Throne of God throw down their crowns and bow before Him? What caused the Israelites to shout
with joy after they saw the destruction of Pharaoh’s army in the Red Sea? From where do the great hymns arise
that we sing every week in church? This message explores what it means to worship God in truth, and what your
heart has to do with it.

Disappointed with God - Do you find yourself sometimes disappointed with God? Perhaps the fault lies,
not with God, but with our expectations of the God of our imagination. God often disappoints because He is
subtle. Naaman, the Syrian leper, was disappointed when he was told to wash in the Jordan seven times. He
wanted to see something dramatic. Elijah was disappointed with God. He had seen fire fall from heaven, but in a
matter of hours, he was fleeing for his life. When God spoke to Elijah, He came at last in a still, small voice. Learn
that subtlety is often God’s preferred manner of operation, and how you can learn to see God working.
