A STUDY OF CONSUMERS PREFERENCE AND SATISFACTION TOWARDS VARIOUS


CELL PHONE SERVICE PROVIDERS

Objectives of the project

To study the evaluation of cell phones with particular reference


to India.
To ascertain the attributer who influenced the customers in
selecting the particular services provider.

To know about the awareness level of consumers

providers.

regarding their mobile phone service provider.


To ascertain the attributes that consumer prefers
in selecting a particular mobile phone service
provider.
To study the consumers' satisfaction level towards
various services offered by mobile phone service
providers.
To assess the problems faced by the mobile phone
users regarding their respective mobile phone
service providers.
To understand and offer valuable suggestions to
improve the services of mobile phone service

Problem Statement :

This Study will help us to understand the consumers satisfaction towards cell phone service
providers
The customers are more dynamic.
Their taste, needs and preference can the changing as per current scenario
Hence the development of cellular industry mainly depends on the customer satisfaction

In our country the growth of service marketing especially mobile


phone
industry is still in its infancy stage, as compared to the industrially
advanced
countries. It is for the fact that the economy of our country has
been in the
developing stage. There are various mobile phones services
providers in our

country and they are playing an essential role in fulfilling the


needs of the
customers.
Now-a-days, the customers are more dynamic. Their taste, needs
and
preference can the changing as per current scenario. Hence the
development of
cellular industry mainly depends on the customer satisfaction.
However the
following questions may arise regarding customer satisfaction.
1. Does the cell industry satisfy the social responsibility?
2. What are all expectations by the customers regarding service
provided
by the cell phone service provider?
3. Whether the service provided by cell phone industry is
satisfying the
customers?
4. Are the facilities available adequate to satisfy the customers?

Methodology to be used
The study is based on primary and secondaty data. With the aim of formal questionnaire,
with personal face interview, the research had gathered the data for this project. The first
part of the questionnaire deals with the personal characteristic of the respondents. The
second part of the questionnaire deals with the respect to the cellular service. Secondary
data regarding the cellular service providers are collected from Journals, dealers, magazine
and through internet.
The work is limited to study
the consumer preferences and satisfaction towards
various mobile phone service providers . The research design used for the research
problem in hand is exploratory research which is also
termed as formulative research. The major emphasis
in exploratory research is given on the discovery of
ideas and insights of the research problem.
The sample design adopted for the research
problem in hand is convenience random sampling. The
sample size for the study is 250. The sample unit of
the study included different occupation, age, income
and educational background.
For the study in hand, both the primary and
secondary data is collected. The primary data for the
study is collected directly from target respondents
through structured questionnaire and personal
interviews. The secondary data for the study is

collected from different sources such as technical and


trade journals, articles, newspapers, magazines,
internet, periodicals, books, reports, publications of
associations related to mobile phone service providers
