ANOMALY

THE JAWS
INTRODUCTION :
May be : Genetically or Acquisitive
On the teeth or on the bones or on the face
ETIOLOGY :
Are chemically or physically or ifections (this is prenatal), and traumatically .
Chemically reasons :
Cytostatics, antibiotics, such as salicylatics, antipyretics, and analgetics.
Physical reasons :
very dangours
such as X-ray, radiotherapy and ionic ray.
Infections factors :
Such as viral infections, for example virus rubeoly, also toxoplasmosis, and
syphilis infections.
Teratogenic factors :
Such as hypovitaminosis and also hypervitaminosis, sometimes hypoxie fetus.
Hormonal factors :
Central due to regulation by adenohypophysis ex. hormon for growth
Hyperpituitarismus : for child gigantismus, and for adult acromegaly.
Hypopituitarismus : Infantilismus or nanismus.
Hypothyroidismus : Cretinismus or myxedema (skin containg more
mucopolysacharids acides) dry skin. For adult, may be macroglossy,
macrocheily, and big nose.
Bad habitus :
Parafunction.

1. Progeny true:
dental (opaque bite), and alveolar and mandibular(sceletal).
2. Progeny nontrue :
Pseudoprogeny unilateral or relative(laterogeny).
For anomaly alveolar progeny :
Operation on the mandibular alveol :
Alveolotomy : For frontal section or portion. (Hullihen; 1849).
Operation on the body of the mandible :
They are osteotomy or ostectomy(Dingman operation), (Toman operation).
Operation on the mandibular ramus :
Horizontal osteotomy of the mand. ramus.(Lindman and Kosteck).
Sagital osteotomy of the mand. ramus.(Obwegeser)
Operation on the articular condyle.
Microgenic type :
Operation on the body of the mandible : (osteotomy). or on the ramus.
