MEANING OF OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE
Open-source software (OSS) is computer software with its source code made available
with a license in which the copyright holder provides the rights to study, change, and
distribute the software to anyone and for any purpose.Open-source software may be
developed in a collaborative public manner. Open-source software is the most prominent
example of open-source development
2.0 THE LATEST OPEN SOURCE OPERATING SYSTEM(OSOS)
2.1 MEANING OF OPEN SOURCE(OS)
OSOS is operating system that provided for use, modification and redistribution. It can
be download from the Internet for free and modify with suggested improvements.
2.2 EXAMPLES OF OPEN SOURCE(OS)
A) Visual Basic.NET
Visual basic is multi paradigm low level programming language impremented on the
Net.framework
B) Php 7.0.5(Stable release March,31 2016)
PHP is a server-side scripting language designed for web development but also used as a
general-purpose programming language. Originally created by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994, the
PHP reference implementation is now produced.The PHP Group. PHP originally stood for
Personal Home Page, but it now stands for the recursive backronym PHP: Hypertext
Preprocessor.

3.1 MEANING OF OPEN SOURCE APPLICATION SOFTWARE
An application program is a computer program designed to perform a group of coordinated
functions, tasks, or activities for the benefit of the user. Examples of an application include a
word processor, a spreadsheet, an accounting application, a web browser, a media player, an

aeronautical flight simulator, a console game or a photo editor. The collective noun
application software refers to all applications collectively. This contrasts with system
software, which is mainly involved with running the computer

A) Mplayer 1.3.0 (Stable release 16,february 2016)
MPlayer is a free and open-source media player. The program is available for all major
operating systems, including Linux, Mac OS X and other Unix-like systems, as well as for
Microsoft Windows. Versions for OS/2, Syllable, AmigaOS, MorphOS and AROS Research
Operating System are also available. A port for DOS using DJGPP is also available.[2]
Versions for the Wii Homebrew Channel[3] and Amazon Kindle[4] have also been developed
