The works will continue up through 26 September 2014. During this time, parts of
Gustav Mahlerlaan will be torn up. As the lanes are being narrowed, it will still be
possible for traffic to travel in both directions.
Cyclists
The bike path on the south side of Gustav Mahlerlaan is closed. Cyclists can use
the diversion to reach Mahlerplein and Zuid Station.
Pedestrians
The pavement on the south side of Gustav Mahlerlaan will be torn out.
Pedestrians can use the pavement along the opposite side of the street. This
situation will remain in effect through the end of construction at lots 9 & 10 and 11
& 12.
Parking
Parking spaces between Parnassusweg and Gustav Mahlerlaan on the south side
of Gustav Mahlerlaan numbers 300-366 will be temporarily unavailable. Parking
spaces will become available again after the completion of the works.
Start of development of lots 9 & 10 and 11 & 12
The development of lots 9 & 10 will comprise two residential complexes with
underground parking facilities. The buildings have been designed by Inbo for
Royaal Zuid and will be built by ERA Contour b.v. Preparatory works will begin in
September, with construction expected to start in October.

Activities during the first phases of both building developments and how
they will affect you
Site huts will be installed at the work site, which will be set off with fences.
Work will begin with the installation (vibration method) of sheet piling, and the
associated noise and vibration may cause some inconvenience.
This will intermediately be followed by excavation of the construction site and
removal of the soil by lorries.
Once the sheet piling is in place, pile-driving activities can begin. This work
will also cause some inconvenience.
Lorry traffic and the delivery and removal of other building materials will be routed
via De Boelelaan and occasionally via Gustav Mahlerlaan as necessary.
Contact and communication
The respective building contractors will inform you about the work on lots 9 & 10
and 11 & 12, before the start of construction.
Construction update: lot 1a & 2a Gustav Mahlerlaan and Beethovenstraat
Based on the current planning schedule, the building contractor G&S Bouw
will be removing the sheet piling from Monday, 29 September through Friday, 10
October. You will receive a letter from the contractor containing further details
beforehand.
Hours of activity
The building contractors have a permit to work on Mondays through Saturdays
from 7 am to 7 pm. Should it be necessary to work outside these hours, everyone
in the immediate neighbourhood will be informed in advance.
Timeline
Weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances may influence the progress of
the work. All dates mentioned are therefore subject to change. Naturally, you will
be informed in the event of any major changes.
