This source is a site that gives the readers information about the specific disorders that humans
can suffer with. The University of Virginia School of Medicine were the people who created this
site, that gives us all the information us readers need to inform us and give us specific information
we need to know about different disorders. This specific source is about people who suffer from
Cerebral Palsy. This source tells us different types of Cerebral Palsy people can have, the
problems people have to suffer with Cerebral Palsy, the type of equipment used, the therapy
people have to go through with Cerebral Palsy, and lastly how people grow up with Cerebral Palsy.

view?]
Yes I believe that this source is Credible for people who want to get informed for the disorder
Cerebral Palsy, because this is a resource that is from a University and the creators of this site are
very well informed and know more of the disorder than others. This resource is reliable as well
because all the information are written by people that are aware and know a lot about this disorder,
and they have studied about this disorder as well. There is no specific point of view in this source,
there are many authors that have put a part into it, and they have all tried to inform us all that they
know.

d. Describe how you think you will use the source [How is it useful to you? How does it
relate to your topic? Will it be for background information? Relate to a specific part of your

question?]
I think this source will be useful for our research report because it gives us a wide section of
information that we can use to help others and ourselves understand more about Cerebral Palsy
and how it affects one. This site is giving us information about our topic, so it doesnt relate-it is
our topic. No it will not be for background information because the information this source is giving
us, is the information we need to know about the disorder Cerebral Palsy. This source is giving us
information about how people with cerebral Palsy are affected socially by the way they
communicate to others, how they are effected intellectually, and as well how they are feeling
emotionally inside.

b. Summary of the source
This source is about cerebral palsy. A disorder that occurs before or after birth. It is the damage of
an infants brain, making the child has poor control and muscle weakness. Cerebral palsy, itself is
not a continuing disorder e.g. Brain damaged does not get worse; however secondary conditions
like muscle spasticity can be developed over time. United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego county
wrote this information to allow others to be more educated on this disorder and start helping by
donating money towards this organization.

c. Evaluate of the source

This source is credible because it is an organization by the government to allow others to be more
educated and donate money to the cause. It is also reliable because this organization was created
by San Diego county which is supported by the government and has a good reputation to their
name. They have been helping others with this disorder since 1958 and still going. There is no
specific author and their point of view, because there is more than one author. But the main point
of view is to get the readers attention and information of cerebral palsy known.
d. Describe how you think you will use the source
This source is very useful for our research because it helps us understand more and allow us to be
more aware of this disorder. Its related to our topic question because it tells us how children are
physically affected by cerebral palsy. Sometimes they have impairment of sight, hearing speech;
seizures and most of the time mentally retardation. Other difficulties can occur such as feeding,
bladder/bowel control problems, and skin disorders.

Its not going to be used as background information because the information found from this
source is specifically part of our question. It relates to How is children or people with this disorder
affected physically by cerebral palsy.

This site gives the viewers an idea of what the disorder Cerebral Palsy and as well what treatment
can be used. National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke where the organization that
created this site for us readers to inform ourselves about the disorder Cerebral Palsy. This site is
about what Cerebral Palsy is and what causes the disorder. As well it tells us that Cerebral Palsy
can not be cured, the only treatment that can help people with Cerebral Palsy is therapy. Lastly, it
tell us the research people have done for the disorder.

This site is credible because it was created by the government which makes its reputation really
high and trusted. Knowing its a government source makes it more legitiment and more able for
people to know that their facts are true not false. Its reliable because it gives us the information we
need. There is no note of their point of view. Just basically putting the information of this disorder
publicly for those who want it.
d. Describe how you think you will use the source
This source will be used as a background source. It basically just here to help and guide us
through the research project. This information is somewhat useful. It will be used as a backup source incase we need more information.
