Alumni Banquet

The 2016 Fairfax Alumni Banquet will be held Friday, May 13, at 7:00 p.m., in the high school gymnasium.
Tickets will be $15. Reservations can be sent to Lisa
Southard Mitchell, 505 5th St., Fairfax, MO 64446, or
you can make reservations at KG Buds in Fairfax. The
deadline for reservations is Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at
12:00 noon. Make checks payable to the Fairfax Alumni
Association, and designate your year of graduation.

Nominate Fairfax R-3 School

Farmers can now nominate the Fairfax R-3 School


District for the 2016 Monsanto Agriculture Grant. Help
the school as they apply for a $10,000 grant by going

Calyn
Clark Eleven turkeys checked by youth hunters

Calyn Andrew Clark,
known by his friends as Caylnn or Cal-Pal, is the son of
David and Patty Clark, and
the grandson of Dewayne
and Sharon Clark, and the
late Harry and Suzie Shaw.
Calyn is 18 years old and
has one sibling, Scott Clark,
who is 26.
Calyn is planning to attend the Nevada Welding
Institute, with a major in
Welding. He can be found on
the river bank fishing, in the
woods walking around, or

around a bonfire surrounded by his friends.


Calyns favorite memory
of Fairfax is winning the tug
of war four years in a row.
One thing that Calyn will
miss about Fairfax is all his
friends.
Calyns favorite quote is
by Wiz Khalifa, I dont care
what they say, reach for the
stars.
When asked if he had any
advice for younger classmen
Calyn said, Tell the truth
its easier that way.
Good luck next year Calyn! You will be missed!

State Theater to hold camp

The State Theater in Mound City, Missouri, will hold a


theater camp May 23 through June 3 for kids ages 8-18
who are interested in theater. The students will have a performance at the end of camp to showcase their talents. For
more information, contact the theater at 660-442-5909.

The annual Youth Turkey


Check-In was held April 9
and 10 in the old Caseys
parking lot in Rock Port.
The mock check station was
sponsored Northwest Missouri Sportsmans Club.
Several prizes were given
away and all of the youth
hunters and guides who got
out and hunted did a great
job. Many volunteers also
made this event possible.
Cameron Oswald was the
winner of the $250 gift card
from Open Season Gun Shop
in Mound City.
Austin Wallace won a
turkey decoy for checking
the turkey with the longest
beard (11).
Gavin Abbott won a turkey decoy winner for checking the turkey with the longest spur (1 3/8).

The Missouri Department
of Conservation reported
that young turkey hunters
harvested 952 birds dur-

ing the 2016 spring youth


season. Top harvest counties were Franklin with 105

Athletes recognized at Athletic Activities Award Banquet


The Fairfax R-3 Athletic
Activities Award Banquet
was held March 24, 2016,
for Fairfax volleyball, cheerleading, and basketball.
Cheerleading letters went
to Tacy Mitchell and Kaitlyn
Gibbons, co-captains, Skye
Clark and Shelbey Morris.
Lisa Mitchell is the cheer
sponsor. A participation certificate was awarded to Trey
Agnew for being the mascot (during varsity football
games at Fairfax and Bulldog mascot during basketball season).
