SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS
A. Over-all Description of the Barangay
1. History of Barangay Jose Abad santos
Barangay J.A. Santos is 8 kilometers away from the
poblacion.
It is located 1 kilometres from the feeder road
bounded by Brgy. Quezon on the north, Brgy. Calantiao on
the south, Brgy. Jose P. Laurel on the west, and Brgy.
Acereda on the east.
Before this place was created into a barangay, it was
yet known as Sitio Talahib, but later a generous resident
donated a lot wherein more populace could settle down in
the place in order that it will qualify to be called as
barangay. After which, the residents decided to select a
leader who was earlier know as Teniente del Barrio.
Then it was decided that the place be named after a
hero who was Andres Bonifacio. Hence, the place got their
name of Brgy. Bonifacio some years later. The barangay
was renamed in honor of another well-known hero Jose
Abad Santos and was its permanent name up to the
present.
It is estimated that the barangay has a total land
area of 160 hectares and majority of the inhabitants are
farmers. The population as of 2005 totalled 460, of which
243 are male and 217 are female. The list of the barangay
assembly from 18 years old and above are 222. The total
number of households are 99.

in the municipality of Bobon, Northern Samar. It is

There is a complete Elementary grade, from
grade 1 to 6 , teachers and school building.
12. HEALTH FACILITIES
Brgy. Health Center is manned by Midwife, BNS
and BHW and CHT members.

NORSAMELCO is the source of the electricity
in the barangay.
