Getting Here from There
When I was 7 years old I gave my life completely to God. I loved to learn about His son Jesus Christ
through scripture and share His Word with others. Looking back, I’m thankful that I have always been
in a Bible believing church and family that have helped me to grow in my faith. But life was not always
so good.
When I turned 15 we moved to Wisconsin and I was deeply hurt. Losing all my close friends and
moving to a different church was painful. Everything changed and I was
angry with God and wouldn’t talk to Him for a while. I became rebellious
and my parents really had to fight to keep me on the right path.
What really changed me though was going to the Teen Leadership
Conference (TLC) at Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania
with my youth group in the summer of 2007. At TLC it hit me, as the
preacher was speaking, how it was only a test that God put in front of me;
that I needed to work and talk to God about my life and to give it all to Him.
Most recently my relationship with God has been praying for direction in my
life and trying to understand where He wants me to be. Last fall I had every
intention to start college at an area school. However, I stepped back from
this, with my parents’ encouragement. They saw a frustration in me, and
after much prayer, believed I wasn’t ready to attend school. I was given the
opportunity to pursue something else for the year.
So many people had come into my life and mentioned Youth With a Mission (YWAM). I had looked
into it and loved the idea, but then other opportunities “popped” up. I applied for those opportunities
but God seemed to keep closing those doors. It became a very clear path back to YWAM.
As I have been reading my Bible I have found a repeating pattern for myself; about people going out
into all the world to share the good news of Christ. I finally have the direction He is sending me in, and
I truly believe it is YWAM.
Where I’m Going
YWAM DTS or Youth With a Mission Discipleship Training School is a six month Christian missionary
training school. This dynamic and fun group of young people are passionate about knowing God and
making Him known to all the nations of the Earth. The Great Commission is our commission!
Earlier this month I was accepted to join the Celtic Way Discipleship Training School (DTS) located in
Paisley, Scotland. It was the first of many DTS programs I looked at and prayed over. I believe that the
passion I have for medieval history mixed with my love for Christ is a wonderful match for my missions
training.
I hope to arrive on June 5, 2010 to start the 14 week Spiritual Information Phase, including 2 weeks of

 Getting There from Here
I am looking for ministry partners that are able to invest in me, but more
importantly, are able to invest in the mission to which I am being called.

I will be needing prayer; that God will grant me safety during all my travels and for
Paisley, Scotland wisdom in sharing His salvation message with others.

I will also need financial support. For over a year I have saved up for whatever
might lay ahead. Yet I still find myself short for what will be needed for this
ministry opportunity.
$8000 is what I am hoping to raise in order to cover the expenses for me to be a
part of the Celtic Way DTS.
With this faith based mission trip I am completely relying on God. He has allowed
me to be accepted into this program; now all I need is the financial contribution.
So again I ask, will you join me in the Great Commission He has called us all to?
