Davao International Container Terminal, Inc.

(DICT)
The container terminal opened for business last May 2013
and declared commercial operations last January 2014.

It is now the no.1 container terminal in Mindanao in terms


of foreign container throughput and container vessel visits.

Majority of the container cargo handled by DICT consists


of fresh produce, such as fresh bananas and pineapples for
export.

DICT also maintains its breakbulk operation providing


arrastre, stevedoring, cold storage and other services to
vessels of Del Monte Fresh Produce.

Dole-Stanfilco and TADECO are two of the biggest banana exporters in
the region. Shipping lines tend to follow the preferences of its major
customers.

Small growers and banana consolidators are provided a consolidation


facility in DICT where they can do consolidation activities.

Berth 2 rehabilitation
Rehabilitation of Berth 2 to be able to handle STS cranes:

1st phase rehabilitation of the existing 140-meter breakbulk


Berth 2 into another container terminal
2nd phase rehabilitation of the 33-meter portion of existing
breakbulk Berth 1 to become part of Berth 2
Upon completion, Berth 2 will be 173 meters long. Together with
the 250-meter Berth 3, DICT will have a total berth length of 423
meters to accommodate 2 large container vessels.
