Film Marketing, Publicity and Promotions Internship


PERIOD OF INTERNSHIP: Summer (May August)
We are seeking responsible, enthusiastic, motivated, reliable and detail-oriented students with excellent
communication skills to work with us beginning in the Summer 2016 with the possibility of extending this
internship through Fall 2016. This is an incredible opportunity to make valuable contacts in all communication
mediums and to learn about the exciting business of marketing films.
WHO WE ARE:
Allied-THA is an advertising, publicity and promotions firm that handles marketing for the Rocky Mountain
Region for all motion picture studios. Our clients include Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (Disney,
Touchstone and DreamWorks), Warner Bros., Columbia Pictures, Fox Searchlight, Universal, 20 th Century
Fox, Paramount, Screen Gems, Focus Features, CBS Films, Film District, Roadside Attractions and more.
Some recent films include: ROOM, POINT BREAK, SUFFRAGETTE, THE PEANUTS MOVIE, CREED, THE
NIGHT BEFORE, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, etc. Allied-THA has a very fast-paced, fun and
exciting work environment.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
PROMOTIONS
Brainstorm and implement promotional campaign ideas in Denver, Salt Lake City and Colorado
Springs including but not limited to, events, contests, stunts, etc. to generate excitement for film
releases cold calling required
Distribute screening passes and promotional items to target audience
Cover evening screenings and events
Report directly to a Publicist
Research and explore outlets/partners for film releases
Organize and oversee promotional advance screenings and write follow-up reports for the studio
Prepare formal written reports for film studios
PUBLICITY
Service college newspapers/radio/TV with press materials
Help arrange college press coverage for promotional events
Assist in generating media coverage for special events and writing market research reports
Update and maintain database
ORIENTATION
Interns are expected to attend a 4-6 hour orientation session held before the beginning of the
internship
The orientation session will help interns become familiar with the company, daily tasks, machines, etc
An Internship Manual is provided
EVALUATION
Interns will be evaluated on their performance in the office (research, creative thinking, setting up
promotions, as well general tasks, reports, etc.) and at advance screenings, events and flyering
Evaluations will be held twice during the semester, a mid-semester review and an optional final review

CRITERIA
CURRENTLY ENROLLED student majoring in a related field
Minimum 2.8 Grade Point Average
Committed to working a minimum 12-18 hours in the Denver office per work week, and 3-6 hours per
week for nighttime screenings (total of 15-24 hour per week)
Can devote at least two week nights to evening events/screenings and 1-2 hours on the weekend (as
needed)
Access to a car/bus and a semi-flexible schedule
Commitment to drive to the Denver office on scheduled days
Regular access to a computer/email outside of the office
Reliable and keeps communication
SKILLS
Ability to think out-of-the-box/creatively
Ability to meet deadlines
Organized
Attention to detail
Effective communication including phone skills
Ability to learn quickly
Self-motivated
Works well with others
Positive attitude, reliable and willing to try anything!
