o lar de Shiva.
Os Sutras de Patanjali definem claramente um caminho de oito membros (ashtanga) sustentculo para
qualquer nfase que um indivduo deseje se concentrar ao longo do caminho.
Inclino-me perante o supremo Ser interior, Shiva
OM NAMAH SHIVAYA, o maha mantra de Shiva. "Namah" significa prostraes, reverncias.
"Shivaya Namah" significa: eu me prostro ante o Senhor Shiva (a alma o servo de Shiva). "Shiva"
representa a alma universal, "Aya" denota a identidade entre a alma individual e a alma universal. As
cinco letras de "Namah Shivaya" significam as cinco aes do Senhor: criao, preservao, destruio, o
ato de ocultar e a beno; significam tambm os cinco elementos e toda a criao atravs da combinao
deles. "Na" denota o poder oculto do Senhor que faz a alma se mover pelo mundo, "Mah" a amarra que
prende a alma na roda das vidas e mortes. "Shi" o smbolo do Senhor Shiva, "Va" a Sua graa e "Ya"
a alma individual. Se a alma se enreda em "Na" e "Mah" ela ronda interminavelmente pelo mundano, se
ela se associa com "Va" ela vai em direo a Shiva. "Namah Shivaya" forma o corpo do Senhor Shiva e o
mantra propicia que "eu me refugie no corpo eterno do Senhor Shiva".

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya is known as a Mukti, or liberation, Mantra. It is a potent
spiritual formula for attaining freedom. Consistent use of this mantra will eventually, even if
over many incarnations, free us from the cycles of rebirth. In this way it mitigates Karma so
we are free to make true choices in our lives. True choices, not simply reacting to desire and
aversion. Om is a seed sound for the sixth, or brow, chakra and is the name of the state of
existence in which the Indweller (jiva, atman, or soul) has united with the spirit of the all-
pervading consciousness. Namo here means name. Bhagavate is one who is becoming
divine. Vasudevaya is "the Indweller". A 'fairly' literal translation would be: "Om and
salutations to the Indwelling One, substance of the Divine."
