There are 1,500 organizations and 50,000 individuals involved in the program. AT&T
and its employees urge the public to commit they will join the movement to end texting
while driving. The campaign has resulted in more than two million downloads of the app.
Pledge Continues to Grow
The It Can Wait campaign has encouraged drivers to make a commitment to never
text and drive by taking the pledge at ItCanWait.com. The program has strongly urged
people to share their pledge on social media to extend the movement.
It Can Wait has spread the word about this effort and has generated more than 7
million pledges since beginning in 2010. Nearly 80 percent of teen drivers have said that
if their friends tell them texting while driving is stupid, they are not as likely to do it.
