It can be noted from the table 4 that among the male respondents, the item number 1 I enjoy being
with my classmate got the highest computed mean of 4.24 which is interpreted as very high cooperative
learning. On the other hand, the item number 11 We have a time for tutor each other got the lowest
computed mean of 3.24 which is interpreted as average.
Among the female respondents, the item number 6 I respect the opinion of others got the highest
computed mean of 4.56 which is interpreted as very high cooperative learning. On the hand, the item
number 11 We have a time for tutor each other got the lowest computed mean of 3.39 which is
interpreted as average.

It can be noted from the table 4 that item number 6 I respect the opinion of others ranked no. 1
with regard to sex which got the highest computed mean of 4.37 which is interpreted as very high. On the
other hand, the item number 20 We have a time to discuss our knowledge and review all necessity
things ranked 20 got the lowest computed mean of 3.08 which is interpreted as average.
Among male respondents, they have a total weighted average mean of 3.81 which is interpreted as
high. While on the female respondents have a total weighted average mean of 3.88 which is also
interpreted as high.
Therefore, sex is a contributing factor with regards to cooperative learning of an individual since they
have a computed mean which are both interpreted as high level of cooperative learning.
According to Dr. Steven Stein, President of MHS, 1997, women are more aware of their feelings and
those f others, relate better interpersonally, and are significantly more socially responsible than men.

Research is mixed on differences between genders when learning math and science (Halpern, 2007).
Although boys are traditionally considered to have advantages over girls when learning math and science,
girls earn higher grades in math and science demonstrating they can and usually do outperform boys in
math and science classes (Halpern, 2007; Gurian, 2011). The level of achievement for any particular
student, however, is affected by a students belief in his or her ability to achieve success and in the value
he or she places on the subject (Leaper, 2011). For these two qualities, boys usually score higher than girls
(Leaper, 2011). Girls, however, can be further motivated to achieve more in math and science when they

observe that their peers place more value, including interest, in these subjects (Leaper, 2011). Leapers
study concluded that peer support may be especially important for adolescent girls (Leaper, 2011).
Generally, the cooperative learning level of Teacher Education Students of Pangasinan State
University, Urdaneta Campus as according to sex has a total computed mean of 3. 81 which is being
interpreted as high cooperative learning level. Therefore, the cooperative learning of Teacher Education
Students is high.

Table 5 shows that under 16 year old, the item no. 14 we allow expressing idea and opinion and
item no. 18 we have a unity to helping each other got the highest computed mean of 4.27 which is
interpreted as high cooperative learning .on the other hand ,the item no. 10, we review the entire lesson
that we had tackled, got the lowest computed mean of 3.41 which is interpreted as high cooperative
learning.
On the other hand, the student under 17 years old, the item no. 1 I enjoy being with my classmate
got the highest computed mean of 4.46 which interpreted as very high cooperative learning, while the
item no. 11 we have a time for tutor each other got the lowest computed mean of

3.20 which

interpreted as average cooperative learning

Under the age of 18, the item no. 1 I enjoy being with my classmate got the highest computed
mean of 4.52 which is interpreted as very high cooperative learning. While the lowest computed mean of
3.42 which we found on the item no. 11 we have a time to tutor each other which is interpreted as high
cooperative learning.
On the other hand, the student that under the age of 19, the item no. 1 I enjoy being with my
classmate got the highest computed mean 4.3 which is interpreted as very high cooperative learning.
While the lowest computed mean of 2.47 which found on the item no. 20 we have a time to discuss our
knowledge and review all necessity things which is interpreted as low cooperative learning.

Under the age of 20 above, the item no. 1 I enjoy being with my classmate got the highest
computed mean of 4.5 which is interpreted as very high cooperative learning, while the lowest computed
mean of

3.67

which is found in the item no. 15 me and my co m ember has equal and balance

participation which is interpreted as high cooperative learning .

Generally , the cooperative learning of teacher education students as according to their age the
overall mean, the item no. 1 I enjoy being with my classmate got the highest computed mean of 4.45
which is interpreted as very high cooperative learning. While the lowest computed overall mean of 3.45 in
item no.11 we have a time for tutor each other which is interpreted as high cooperative learning.
Cooperative learning has been demonstrated to be an especially effective method of teaching in
settings characterized by such diversity. Cooperative learning can be done at almost any age and often
with teachers existing instructional materials. It helps improve achievement from elementary through
graduate schoo.
It could be gleaned from table 5 that the respondents who under 16 years old have computed
weighted arithmetic mean of

3.93 which has an interpretation of high cooperative learning, while the

respondents that under 17 years old have computed weighted arithmetic mean of 3.82 which has an
interpretation of high cooperative learning. And those respondents that under the age of 18 years old have
computed weighted arithmetic of

4.03 which has an interpretation of high cooperative learning. On the

other hand, the respondents that under the age of 19 years old have computed weighted arithmetic mean
of 3.61 which has an interpretation of high cooperative learning. Otherwise, the respondents who under of
20 years old above have a computed weighted arithmetic mean of 4.07 which has an interpretation of high
cooperative learning.

It could be gleaned from table 6 that under low family income (1,000-5,000), the item number 6 I
respect the opinion of others got the highest computed mean of 4.62 which is interpreted as very high

cooperative learning. On the other hand, item number 11 We have a time for tutor each other got the
lowest computed mean of 3.38 which is interpreted as average.
On the other hand, the family whose belong to the highest family income (6000 above) the item
number 1 I enjoy being with my classmate got the highest computed mean of 4.43 which interpreted as
very high level of cooperative learning. And the item number 11 we have a time to tutor each other got
the lowest computed mean of 3.23 which is interpreted as average of cooperative learning.
Daly et al. (1994) stated that students from higher income families are more comfortable asking
questions and actively involving themselves in classroom instruction. These observations present a
challenge to Strong, Silver, and Robinsons (1995) who positioned that students engagement in the
learning process promotes student to success, curiosity and originality, as well as satisfying relationships,
regardless of socioeconomic status.
Generally ,the cooperative learning of teacher education students as according to their family
income ,the item number 1 I enjoy being with my classmate ranked no. 1 among cooperative learning
questionnaire of teacher education student which got the highest computed weighted average mean of
4.48 which means very high. On the other hand, the item we are assessing prior knowledge each other
ranked no. 20 got the lowest weighted average mean of 3.31 which interpreted as average.
It could be gleaned from table 6 that the respondent who belong to family with low monthly income
have computed weighted arithmetic mean of 3.95 which has an interpretation of high cooperative learning
while the respondent who belong to family who belong to family with high monthly income have computed
weighted arithmetic mean of 3.79 which has an interpretation of high cooperative learning. Therefore,
family income is a contributory factor as regard to the cooperative learning of teacher education students.

One study found that only 36 percent of low-income parents were involved in three or more school
activities on a regular basis, compared with 59 percent of parents above the poverty line (U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services, 2000). Goodman (2004) suggested that family income may relate more to
differences in coping styles and other interactional skills. The data implies that poor families tend to have
much quality time and interactions to their siblings due to the occupations they have compared to those
with rich families who tend to be very busy on their careeres and work place.
In summary the overall mean of cooperative learning of teacher education students as regard to
their monthly family income has computed mean of 3.87 which is interpreted as high cooperative learning.
