The True Location of

Golgotha or Calvary
by Eulalio Eguia Jr.
This blog is a continuation of my previous blog titled "Ophel - The Location of King Solomon's Temple".
Locating the altar of the Red Heifer is important not only to the people of Israel, but to Christians as well:
Hebrews 13:10 We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle have no right to eat. 11 The high priest
carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp. 12 And so
Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. 13 Let us, then, go to him outside
the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. 14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to
come.

The bodies of the animals sacrificed during the Day of Atonement are burned outside the camp [of Jerusalem], on
the same place where the Red Heifer is sacrificed and its body burned to ashes. And this place is the altar on top
of the Mount of Olives.
Apostle Paul compared Christs sacrifice to the sacrifices of the Day of Atonement and the Red Heifer, and this
implies that Christ was crucified on the same place.
And this explains why eyewitnesses of Christs crucifixion were able to see the curtain covering the Most Holy, in
the same way the priest sacrificing the Red Heifer is able to look directly at the entrance of the Sanctuary.
Matthew 27: 50 And when
Jesus had cried out again
in a loud voice, he gave up
his spirit. 51 At that
moment the curtain of the
temple was torn in two
from top to bottom. The
earth shook, the rocks split
52 and the tombs broke
open.
Middot 2: 4 All the walls
there were high, save only
the eastern wall, because
the [High] priest that burns
the [Red] heifer and stands
on top of the Mount of
Olives should be able to
look directly into the
entrance of the Sanctuary
when the blood is
sprinkled.

Notice also that those who witnessed Christs crucifixion were able to see tombs breaking open. This means Christ
was crucified near a cemetery.

John 19: 41 Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one
had yet been laid. 42 Therefore because of the Jewish day of preparation, since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus
there.

The ridge [of the Mount of Olives] is

formed of oceanic sedimentary rock
from the Late Cretaceous, and
contains a soft chalk and a hard flint.
While the chalk is easily quarried, it
is not a suitable strength for
construction, which is why the Mount
was never built up, and instead
features many man-made burial
caves.
Christ was buried in a rich mans
tomb:
Isaiah 53: 9 He was assigned a grave
with the wicked, and with the rich in
his death, though he had done no
violence, nor was any deceit in his
mouth.

The Jewish Cemetery on the Mount of Olives is the most ancient and most important cemetery in Jerusalem. Burial
on the Mount of Olives started some 3,000 years ago in the First Temple Period, and continues to this day. The
cemetery contains about 70,000 tombs from various periods, including the tombs of famous figures in Jewish
history.

It is but logical that the rich mans tomb where Christ was buried, is located at the Jewish Cemetery on the Mount of
Olives.
Now the place where Christ was crucified is also known as Golgotha, or the place of the skull:
John 19: 17 They took Jesus, therefore, and He went out, bearing His own cross, to the place called the Place of a
Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha.

Golgotha is referred to in early writings as a hill resembling a skullcap located very near to a gate into Jerusalem: "A
spot there is called Golgotha, - of old the fathers' earlier tongue thus called its name, 'The skull-pan of a head'."

The Skull?
A container filled with the ashes of the Red Heifer is stored hidden "outside the camp [of Jerusalem]" near the altar
of the Red Heifer (at the top of the Mount of Olives).
Numbers 19:9 A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer and put them in a ceremonially clean place outside
the camp. They are to be kept by the Israelite community for use in the water of cleansing; it is for purification from sin.

And for the third temple to be built, these ashes are a prerequisite.
And who knows, maybe sacred vessels from the Temple, including the Ark of the Covenant, are stored in that site
as well. After all, there was a bridge that connects the Temple and the top of the Mount of Olives where the Red
Heifer is sacrificed. And it is possible that before the second Temple was destroyed by General Titus, the Temple
priests may have taken the sacred vessels to the Red Heifer altar by way of this bridge.
Christ was buried on an unused tomb, and I believe that the ashes of the Red Heifer are also stored on a clean,
unused tomb as well.
There are prophecies involving the Mount of Olives and the future third Temple located at Ophel.
Apostle John will be measuring the future third Temple:
Revelation 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple
of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But the court which is outside the temple leave out, and measure it
not; for it is given unto the Gentiles

In my previous blog titled: Ophel -The Location of King Solomons Temple, I showed that the Outer court is
currently occupied by the Al-Aqsa mosque. And this is the reason why the angel told John to leave [it] out, and
measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles. This implies that the third Temple will be the smaller Temple of
Solomon and not the expanded Temple of Herod.

The Two Witnesses (whom I
believe to be the prophets
Moses and Elijah) will be
crucified in the same place
where Christ was crucified,
namely, Calvary or Golgotha:
Revelation 11: 3 And I will give
power unto my two witnesses,
and they shall prophesy a
thousand two hundred and
threescore days, clothed in
sackcloth. 7 And when they shall
have finished their testimony, the
beast that ascendeth out of the
bottomless pit shall make war
against them, and shall
overcome them, and kill them.
8 And their dead bodies shall
lie in the street of the great city,
which spiritually is called Sodom
and Egypt, where also our Lord
was crucified.

For this reason I believe the transfiguration of Christ also occurred in Calvary, which is where Christ and the Two
WItnesses were destined to be crucified.
Matthew 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high
mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the
light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
