3 Extended Battery Cabinet

Extended Battery Cabinet

About This Chapter

The APM30 and the extended battery cabinet works together to supply power to mini base
stations or distributed base stations. The extended battery cabinet is optional. It is configured
with a 48 V 200 AH built-in battery group to supply backup power for a long period of time
in special cases.
3.1 Structure of the Extended Battery Cabinet
This describes the structure of the extended battery cabinet. A good knowledge of the structure
can help you use the extended battery cabinet correctly.
3.2 Technical Specifications of the Extended Battery Cabinet
The technical specifications of the extended battery cabinet include the weight, dimensions,
waterproof and dustproof requirements, and installation methods.
3.3 Application of the Extended Battery Cabinet
The extended battery cabinet can be configured with a maximum of 200 AH built-in batteries
to supply backup power to distributed base stations and mini base stations for a relatively long
period of time.

3.1 Structure of the Extended Battery Cabinet

This describes the structure of the extended battery cabinet. A good knowledge of the structure
can help you use the extended battery cabinet correctly.

Internal Cabling of the Extended Battery Cabinet

There is a cable hole on each side of the battery cabinet. The one on the left side is for the
AC power cable and the one on the right side is for the DC power cable and monitoring
cable.

The side cable hole has a waterproof box, which prevents water from entering the battery
cabinet.

If the APM30 cabinet is not stacked up on the extended battery cabinet, the cable holes at
the top of the extended battery cabinet must be covered with the sealing cover plate to
prevent water from entering the battery cabinet.

At the bottom and on both sides of the cabinet, there are cable holes. If the cabinet is installed
on the base, route the cables from the bottom, as shown in Figure 3-4; if the cabinet is
directly installed on the concrete floor, route the cables from the sides, as shown in Figure
3-5.

CAUTION

The cable holes must be sealed with fireproof clay. For details, refer to Sealing the cable
holes.

If the cable holes are reserved for future use, do not remove the foam cover from the cable
holes.

Route the cables neatly and bind them with cable ties.

3.2 Technical Specifications of the Extended Battery Cabinet

The technical specifications of the extended battery cabinet include the weight, dimensions,
waterproof and dustproof requirements, and installation methods.
The extended battery cabinet applies to the category C environment. Table 3-1 lists the technical
specifications of the extended battery cabinet.

1. Category C environment refers to ocean surface, outdoor land near pollution sources, and places with
weak shield (for example, a canopy).
2. The outdoor land near pollution sources refers to the following areas:

3.7 km away from a salt lake or ocean

3 km away from severe pollution sources such as a metal production plant, a coal mine, and a
thermal electricity plant and 2 km away from moderate pollution sources such as a chemical plant,
a rubber mill, and an electroplating plant

1 km away from light pollution sources such as a food product factory, a leather product factory,
and a heating boiler factory

3.3 Application of the Extended Battery Cabinet

The extended battery cabinet can be configured with a maximum of 200 AH built-in batteries
to supply backup power to distributed base stations and mini base stations for a relatively long
period of time.
