Allan: Wow!

Ruby [speaking Tagalog]: There he is!

Allan: This is it!

Pauline [speaking Tagalog]: My camera is so not ready for this!

Ruby [speaking Tagalog]: Here we go! While yesterday we had David Archuleta
with us, today, here we have the other David!

Allan [speaking Tagalog]: As you can hear, our eardrums are almost busted already
from the screaming of all those people, because here is...

Allan, Ruby, and Pauline: David Cook!

[David performs "Always Be My Baby"]

David: Thank you very much.

[crowd cheers. David laughs]

Pia [speaking Tagalog]: Gang, in Eat Bulaga!, Mr. David Cook!

[crowd cheers]

David: Thank you.

Michael: Bulaga!

Pia: Welcome to Eat Bulaga! David.

[Pia walks over to Neal]

Pia: And companion. May we have your name also please?

Neal: Neal

Pia [patting Neal on the back]: Thank you, Neal!

David: Everybody give it up for my guitar player, Neal!

[crowd cheers. Neal waves]

David: Yeahhh
Pia [speaking Tagalog]: Let's clap our hands for Neal!

[David laughs]

Michael: Go Neal!

[David laughs]

Pia: David, welcome to Eat Bulaga!

David: Ah, thank you.

Pia: You wanna say hi to this, uh, to the-- this multitude of fans first?

David [waving]: Hi! [laughs]

Michael: Never seen the studio this packed until you came here.

David: Aw man. This is uh...this is a trip. [pointing straight ahead of him] That
is...um, my face is on that sign. That's horrific-looking.

[Michael and Pia laugh]

David: Good Lord. [pauses] Nah--

Pia: David, I read in one of your interviews that you said that you found Filipino fans
unreal.

David: Yeah, absolutely.

Pia: What, what did you mean by that?

David: Um...I, I....I, I've done, I've done a, a lot of really cool things since I won Idol
last year, and...uh, never gotten a response like I got when I stepped off the plane
in Manila.

[crowd cheers]

David: It was uh... [laughs] I actually-- I asked my manager, cuz, I didn't know what
to expect-- I was like: "Should I, like, go get ready before we get off the plane, so I
look presentable?" She's like: "No, no, no. It's OK." And we walked off the plane,
and...I had, like, greasy hair, I was gross...

[Michael laughs]

David: ...and everybody's just losin' it. It was so cool. I, I have to say...the time
that, that Archie and I have spent here so far, you guys have been absolutely
amazing. Thank you so much.

[crowd cheers]
Pia: Something tells me it doesn't matter how you looked, just as long as you....I
guess, you appear.

David: I guess, yeah. [laughs]

Pia: Now, speaking of Idol last year, do you still-- are you still in touch with any of
your batchmates? Like... [pauses] Ramiele Malubay...

David: Yeah

Pia: ...for instance, who's Pinoy?

David: I actually, I talked to Ramiele, uh...a few days before we flew out here. And
uh, she told me to tell everybody hello.

[Michael laughs]

David: And uh...yeah, I still talk to a lot of people. I still talk to Carly Smithson and
Michael Johns, and...Jason Castro and Brooke White, and Chikezie, and...all of 'em,
really. So...

Pia: Uh-huh. Everyone's really excited. And um...

Michael: They're just so thrilled right now.

[David laughs]

Pia: Ev--

David: It's a trip.

Pia: And, and speaking of Idol, it's down to two people right now.

David: Yeah. Kris and...

Pia: It's between...

David: ...uh, Adam. Yeah.

Pia: ...uh, Adam and Kris. Between the two, who would you hate to be,
uh...competing against?

[Michael laughs]

David: Uh...either one of 'em. Cuz I'd still have to deal with Simon either way.

[Pia laughs]

David: So...either one. Either one.

Pia: Simon. OK, and you also said...that, um, for-- speaking about your concert on
Saturday, where you will be performing...for tens of thousands of people. David,
how does it feel to be performing for such a crowd -- [waves hand out across the
audience] even right now, there's a huge crowd here for you -- when once upon a
time you said you would perform just with a microphone...

David: Yeah

Pia: ...your guitar, and five people...

[David laughs]

Pia: ...in the audience? Tell us about how long it's uh...how far it's gone for you.

David: I, I think to uh...to, to go where-- to come from where I came from -- like,
Neal and I have known each other for about six years. And we used to play acoustic
gigs together to, like, five, six people. And, and to uh, to fly halfway around the
world and to, to hear estimates of uh, of thirty, forty thousand people showing up
for a show, um...I, I'm absolutely ecstatic to play tomorrow night. I hope everybody
comes out. I really, really do.

[crowd cheers]

Michael: Expect ev--

David: You guys are all comin', right?

[Michael laughs]

Michael: Expect everyone to be there. Why don't you invite them for the show, uh,
tomorrow night?

David: Yeah, yeah. We're playin' uh, the Mall of Asia open concert grounds...uh,
tomorrow night. It's uh, Mr. David Archuleta and myself. And I hope you guys all
come out, man. I really, really do.

[crowd cheers]

Michael: Man...

Pia: We have some-- some kind of a, an Idol reunion here on Eat Bulaga! tomorrow.
[laughs]

David: Yeah

Pia: You wanna invite them to that, too, before your concert? [laughs]

David: Oh yeah, before the concert. Make sure you come, uh, to the--
Pia: Watch Eat Bulaga!

David: ...to the Idol reunion. Well, watch the show.

[Pia laughs]

Michael: Uh-huh

David: And check out the Idol reunion.

Michael: Yeah, and come--

David: You're gonna do that too, right?

[crowd cheers]

Michael: Yup. Tomorrow here on Eat Bulaga! So they better watch out for that.
They'll be expecting, uh, David Cook light.

[David laughs]

Pia: Mall of Asia on Saturday. First concert you'll ever have with David
Archuleta...who you describe as one of your best friends. How close are you-- are
the two of you, exactly, David?

David: Um, well I mean, obviously we went through an entire season of American
Idol together. And, and uh... [laughs as he hears someone shout something from
the audience] thank-- hi. And uh...he's honestly one of the most genuine people
I've ever met. And so uh...to be able-- I, I joked around with him the other night,
you know, cuz we haven't seen each other in awhile.

Michael: Uh-huh

David: Uh, we had to fly...to Manila just to hang out. And uh...so we're both very
excited to come play for you guys. And, and hopefully uh, we get to see all your
smiling faces tomorrow night.

[crowd cheers]

Michael: And I believe you play rock band together?

David: Yeah. Yeah, yeah.

[Michael laughs]

Michael: Wow

Pia: And...Archie likes, um, Philippine Mangoes. Anything Filipino in specific that you
took a liking to?
David: Um...

Pia: Aside from the crowd, of course.

David: Yeah, yeah. Well, I-- like, like Archie, uh, I've eaten a lot of Mangoes this
week.

[Pia laughs]

David: Um...but there's still one thing that I have to try, and, and I'm not even
gonna try to butcher the name, but it's uh...it's eggs. Uh...

Michael: Oh

Pia: Balut!

David: Yeah. Yeah, yeah.

Pia: Ok, we'll--

David: I gotta try it. So...

Pia: We'll take care of that.

David [laughing]: OK. Cool.

Pia [speaking Tagalog]: Friends, let's clap our hands for David Cook!

[crowd cheers]

Michael: Thanks David.

Pia: Thank you so much David.

David: Thank you very much. [shakes Pia's hand] Thank you. [shakes Michael's
