Statement of Purpose

Charles Vest the President of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1990 until December
2004 said that, Looking ahead, I believe that the underlying importance of higher education, of science, of
technology, of research and scholarship to our quality of life, to the strength of our economy, to our security
in many dimensions will continue to be the most important message.
This is a great opportunity to introduce myself at your university and I think its a wonderful opportunity to
support my candidature for the next spring term session. With my teaching experiences and wonderful
educational career, I firmly believe that I am a suitable candidate for this program. I choose your university
because its the University of Eighteenth century with high quality research scholar and well known
reputation in the world of education.
I developed a keen interest in Robotics and Machine Learning after attending a Bachelor course named
Robotics and Computer Vision. The course was conducted by Prof. Dr. Washim Bari, Program Coordinator,
Southeast Asia Zone, Robotics Lab Installation and Training Program, PhD Research Center, City University
of New York. Thereafter, I worked on some projects like Automatic car moving by sensing obstacle, Car
Movement Control by RF module, Vehicle Entry Control in Fuel station, Home security using Laser Light
and Light Sensor. I also worked on Bangla Text to Speech (TTS) processing using hidden Markov Model and
Mini-Max Algorithm and studied the following algorithms C4.5, k-Means, Support Vector Machines (SVM),
Apriori, Expectation Maximization (EM), PageRank, AdaBoost, k-Nearest Neighbors (kNN), Naive Bayes,
Classification and Regression Tree (CART).
Currently, I am working as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering,
Metropolitan University, Sylhet where I teach the courses in details which I have previously studied.
Moreover, I have to conduct the courses like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning though there is no
expert on this field in our University. I follow the online video lecture from Course Era but these are not
sufficient. Thanks to this particular experience I am now able to perceive the complexity of this field. I also
realize that in future I want to develop my career in this field. Beside application of structure dimensioning, I
hold especial interest in the Robotics and Machine Learning and I would like to do specialization in this
particular field.
I firmly believe that University in Germany is full of high quality education and University of Stuttgart is
one of the best. That is why I decided to place my application to your university to get the opportunity of
high quality education. After careful overview of the master program you are offering and the course
requirements with at your University, I believe that curricula fully suit my research interests and profile and
therefore I would like to get an opportunity to attend this program.
Knowledge gained on the studies at your University I not only see as an extraordinary career opportunity but
also it will be possible for me to share that advanced knowledge learned from course can with my students
which facilitate them to learn about the advanced methodology of learning, grow the keen interest of
research this field and they will be able to know the highly standard education system of the University of
Stuttgart.
At the end I would like to point out that I am determined to make the most of this opportunity. I believe that
being a student in your department would not only empower my career development, but would give me the
framework to utilize my full potentials which help me as well as my students of our country where I lecture.
Moreover I feel that as a Masters student at your University, I will get advanced knowledge from the
Intellectuals working in your renowned university. If I get a change to admit myself in your university which
introduced me with Germany/American education system that is highly standard in comparison with any
countries of the world and these opportunities facilitate me to serve my country. Though I am a University
teacher in my country and it is possible for me to share that advanced knowledge with my students to

enhance their knowledge. In addition, the education system would be followed in the University where I am
serving now which facilitate to improve the education system of the university as well as our country.
As I understand, this programme is very competitive, attracting highly motivated students, but I am
convinced that my good record at the University and professional experience give me a strong
recommendation for a place at it. Therefore I would be honoured if you decide to accept my candidateship
for Master studies. In the same time I am aware of possible challenges and high investments of effort I will
have to place in order to successfully complete this course.
