If the adjetive or adverb has just one syllabus, the comparative form used is ER
then add THAN.
Example.
Carlos is taller than Jose. (tall)
Maria is thinner than Fabiola. (thin)
Monterrey is bigger than Allende. (big)
The elephant is heavier than the hippo. (heavy)

Some small adjective need to repeat the last consonant for not
changing their pronounciation. And the ones which end with
Y need to use i.
Example:
