Lire Consciousness

. - - -

I have heard people say that when they became a Christian their problems just

began. At first I wondered in my thoughts for an answer- Isn't Christ supposed

to bring peace and joy and all that? Then what can we say for those who try it
and come up, apparently worse for the wear- The answer is very simple, so simple
I couldn't see it right off myself.

Before a person becomes a "Christian" he has Freedom to do as he pleases. He

can without hesitation observe or neglect as many Church services as he pleases,
because he is under no obligation. This person can participate in any activity
he sees fit- He has no real responsibility with regard to ether peoples souls
because he has no allegiance to any particular line of thought-

At the point when a person commits their life to Christ in a faith and obedience
kind of way, they immediately begin to have conflicts within, that probably never
occurred before. Now, they have to decide which is more important to go to Church
services or-social .activltiea-^jyow, if they^ are irregular in observing the Lord's
table and fellowship they are conscious of it- Now, certain activities which were

easily participated in before becomes questionable- The burden of souls lost becomes
a heavy weight around their necks. Why - because of the Holy Spirit in their lifeThey are alive now to God, thoy have brought into themselves a life consciousness
which did not exsist before. God is with them now- They know Him through His
written word.

Unfortunately some refuse to,admit this simple truth that being alive in Christ
sometimes makes you uncomfortable, and it should in regard to sin and the lost state
f those around us- If you are uncomfortable then good - at least you are alive, be
sure you correct what ever it is that's making you that way, not by ignoring the
Word, but by observing it.

Please send along with this form copies of recommendations from churches which will encourage
other churches to support your missionary work. There are churches which will not allow a
visiting missionary to speak unless a church recommendation can be shown. Since it is impos
sible for any one person to know all Christians in the world, this recommendation by a respon
sible New Testament church is a vital help in persuading others of your worthiness and the value
of your mission. Mission Services stands ready to help you inform HORIZONS readers about
your church recommendations. Since the church is sending you to the mission field (Acts 13:1-3)
and will help provide the necessary needs on the field, naturally the church should share the
credit in your missionary ministry. One of the ways that the church can do this is to share their
conviction regarding your missionary ministry with others. Certainly, their words will help
convince others regarding the worthiness of your work. Please help MISSION SERVICES to
spread your news through HORIZONS, Packets and Slide library by sending your church recom
mendations as soon as possible. Thanks. Send what you have now, and the others later.
