General
1.1

Purpose
This specification is to define the basic engineering design data for use in the HVAC
system of the ITR of the Phase lll Development Project in Shanayel, comprising the general
requirements to be complied with in the project and a descriptive system.
The air conditioning systems are intended to ensure appropriate conditions for occupants
and equipment, through the cooling indoor air.

Description and System Operation of Air Conditioning System

It is about an installation designed to cool the air with operation 24 hours per day, in an ITR.
The system will consist of single packaged air ACCU with high-capacity, mini split type, two
effective and two redundant. They will attend the entire area of the ITR.
It will be used as refrigerant R-410A and equipment operation will be cooling only. The ACCU
will be air-cooled, with direct expansion and will have a redundancy level (2x50%). The ACCU
will be installed internally on an appropriate basis. The air conditioning system will have a local
control panel.
The temperature control will be performed by a remote controller, with signals from temperature
sensors installed in the environment.
The HCP will provide the power control and the automation control of the ACCU. In case of fire
accident, the HVAC systems will automatically turn off. The actuation of the smoke detectors
shall result the HVAC operation in recirculation mode.

Design Criteria
Humidity, Over Pressure and Fresh air flow are not requirement for the ITR.

Heat Dissipation & Safety Factor

The calculation of the heat dissipation and the overall balance for the ITR will be done
taking into account :
44-21-40-3610_POWER CONSUMPTION & HEAT DISSIPATION OSBL_RevD ;
Latent and sensible heat gains due to people (0 people per ITR) ;
External heat losses due to Solar radiations, walls, ceiling and floor transmissions ;
Additionally, the cooling load calculation includes a 15% safety factor.
