ALP & Technician

I, S. Dhasaratha Rami Reddy (age 33 years), in the capacity of Member Secretary
and PIO as per RTI Act 2005, do hereby submit the following information for the
awareness of all prospective candidates waiting for the results of CEN No.O 1/2014 . This
special information is being uploaded in our website i.e., http://rrbsecunderabad.nic.in in
view of the huge number of RTI applications being received regarding the delay in results
of ALP and Technicians of CEN No.0112014.
1. Though written examination is held in June/July, 2014 and Aptitude Test also
concluded on 01.04.2015 , result of eligible candidates to attend Document
Verification for the posts of ALP and Technicians is getting unexpected delay in
view of the following reasons & procedures:
a. More than 6 lakhs of applications (both online and offline mode) are received
against notified vacancies of 2839 only in response to CEN No .O112014,
RRB /SC.
b. Though many of the candidates have appeared in the written exam and/or
aptitude test, it is observed that many of the candidates have opted for various
technician categories without having prescribed qualification/trade or relevant
trade in III/without having any III at all etc.
c. First time in the history of RRB, single common written exam conducted for the
selection of ALP and 38 categories of technicians, for which qualification is not
common i.e. , to say that a candidate with ITI in fitter is not eligible for carpenter
and vice versa and so on. And this is consuming huge amount of time while
processing the results for selection of eligible candidates to attend document
verification for all categories.
d. Selection for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot will be done based on the combined
score(70% of the written examination normalized score + Marks out of 30
obtained in aptitude test) subject to merit and vacancy position, options and
qualifications as furnished in the original application of CE:O~/~~ ~ ~O I ~

e. Candidates should also note that RRB will allot various categories to various
candidates based on their options furnished in the applications. & accordingly
the selected candidates will be called for document verification during which
candidates are required to produce all the original certificates of prescribed
qualification for the post selected, failing which their candidature will be
rejected and will not be considered for any of the categories of CEN~Ol/2014.

Candidates, who are found not suitable in the aptitude test, will not be considered
for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot. Candidates should clearly understand that
their performance in the aptitude test does not affect their chances of getting
selected for various Technician categories. However they will be considered
(subject to Merit and vacancy) for various Technician categories based on their
options, Qualifications furnished in the original application of CEN 0112014 .
Selection for All Technician categories will be done purely based on the
normalized percentage Score obtained in the written examination held in June
& July-2014 .

g. Among the qualified candidates in the written exam it is noticed that almost 80%
of candidates do not possess ITI but they have given option for various
categories of technicians without mentioning prescribed qualification in
original application form in response to CEN No.01/2014 and to avoid rejection
of any genuine candidate having ITI, RRB , Secunderabad is crosschecking all
applications with reference to whether having suitable qualification or not for
the post applied for. This is consuming huge amount of time as more than one
lakh candidates are qualified in written exam .
h. As per extant rules, for all offline exams, before declaring results of selected
candidates, OMR clearance after comparison of original OMRs available with
RRB , with that of duplicate OMRs available at RRCB has to be obtained from
Railway Recruitment Control Board, New Delhi for all eligib.le candidates to
attend document verification.

In the process of OMR comparison, many candidates may get eliminated due to
wrong bubbling/encircling of roll number, booklet number & usage of whitener,
ink marks, tampering of OMR etc. This exercise is to be carried out for about
4500 candidates considering the vacancy and also 50% extra as standby, after
which some OMRs of candidates lower in merit should be picked up for
comparison in order to make up for th e candidates getting rejected/eliminated
from the merit list due to errors in OMR like wrong bubbling of Roll No . on
Question Booklet etc.

2. In view of the above reasons, the result process is likely to be delayed by further 3
months for declaring eligible candidates to attend Document Verification for various
posts against CEN No.0112014 and hence, it is to hereby request all the candidates
not to make repeated number of enquiries/RT! applications regarding marks
obtained in the written exam/aptitude test and tentative dates of results and schedule
of Document Verification etc.
3. However, all the selected candidates will be intimated by post well in advance
(15 days) to attend for Document Verification , in addition to publishing the
results/schedule of Document verification for selected candidates in our website
http://rrbsecunderabad.nic.in
4. Any representation/RT! applications will be entertained only after publishing the
results and normalized percentage cut off marks of the candidates with lowest
merit provisionally selected to attend document verification will be displayed in
our website along with results for all categories and communities of ALP and
Technicians of CEN No.01/2014.
Therefore, RRB/Secunderabad regrets to entertain any RTI application pertaining
to CEN No.01/2014 before publication of results in website.
As results of Ex-servicemen and PWD candidates are already declared for document
verification, during which many candidates are getting rejected due to various reasons and
accordingly candidates lower in merit will be called for document verification under Exservicemen and PWD quota.
Due to this process, revised vacancy position for
UR/SC/ST/OB will be calculated based on the community of the candidates selected under
Ex-servicemen and PWD quota and accordingly job allotment will be done for various
technician categories based on revised vacancies and hence chances of getting selected
either technician or ALP will be affected by this process. Hence, for giving results with
absolute accuracy as per merit and revised vacancy, it will take additional time and
therefore, results likely to be declared in the months of April-May 2016 and Document
Verification will be held in May-June 2016.

securing job in railways either through influence or by use of unfair and unethical means.
RRB has not appointed any agent(s) or coaching centre(s) for action on its behalf.
Candidates are warned against any such claims being made by persons I agencies.
Candidates are selected purely as per merit. Please beware of unscrupulous
elements and do not fall in their trap. Candidates attempting to influence RRB directly or
indirectly shall be disqualified and legal action can be initiated against them . ~ { )
