MIXTEC TASK FORCE PRAYER REQUESTS 5/24/2016

Ministries that Reach the Mixtec People Group


Pray for the 5 ministries that serve this people group and are sharing Christ with them both in
word and deed. Community of Hope, Every Tribe, FBC Caring Center, Forest Park Ministry
Center and Nehemiah Center.
Pray for summer interns for 4 of the ministries this summer. If you know a student who is
mature, have them contact me for more details. This is a raise your own support position.

Pray for FBC Caring Center as they are in the process of developing an International Welcome
Center. We will keep you all informed as it develops.
Pray for summer ministries at all of the outreaches listed above. Pray for the Holy Spirit to
work in ways that make us say Hallelujah!!!
Issues that Are Currently Affecting the Mixtec People
Pray for DACA and DAPA (immigration statuses). In June, they may be more available to our
Mixtec people who need documentation. Pray for our government entities who can make this
happen.
Pray for the presidential election. Their future will depend a great deal on the outcome. Pray
for our nation and its future work with immigrants. Pray for Alan Cross and he continues to
learn about how to help all immigrants across the southeast.
Events Related to the Mixtec People
Pray for a series of gospel meetings that will be happening sometime in August. A church
planter from Richmond, who is a Mixtec preacher and speaks the language of the
Mixtec/Metlatonoc people. We will have a series of meetings in different neighborhoods over a
long weekend. The church planters name is Odilon Mendoza.
Bible Storying Workshop. We have FOUR slots left for anyone who works with the Mixtec!
First come, first serve. The event will happen Saturday, June 5th at Gateway Baptist. The cost
is $30 per person. Contact Lisa Rose for details.
Pray for the Mixtec People
Pray for a godly man to build a friendship with Balthazar (Zar), a new believer in Christ.
Pray for Linda, Zars wife, as she looks for work. She is bilingual and loves helping Mixtec
people. She has already helped Baptist South and others. Pray as Lisa disciples her in her faith
walk and parenting.
Pray for the young middle schoolers who Donna and others at Forest Park are discipling.
The middle schoolers are now sharing the gospel with the younger children who come for
tutoring/bible study.
Pray for one of Lou Anns Mixtec kids who was attacked at school and is now in the court
phase. Parents pressed charges and Lou and others are supporting this family through this
difficult time.

Pray for Mixtec teenagers who desperately need support and guidance as they wade through
middle school and high school. Many of them are being bullied and harassed.
Pray for Jane and Rhonda as they continue to mentor a young woman, Amalia, who recently
had a baby.
Pray for the Mixtec in Hopper Gardens, that the spiritual strongholds in the community will be
lifted through the influence of all followers of Christ who come through the complex.
Pray for some of the young couples who are now wanting to have a church
ceremony/wedding. Pray that a young couples group or ministry can be formed through this
need/desire.

Mixtec Task Force Member Needs


Pray for our Mixtec Task Force member, Larry Jenkins, in the death of his father recently.
Pray for our Director of Missions, Ken May, as he prepares for retirement and for the MBA
search committee as they seek a new Director of Missions.
Pray for Hallay Cagle, that her pregnancy will be healthy. She has a busy summer with Every
Tribe. Pray also for her and Bryant as they seek appointment through the North American
Mission Board as volunteer missionaries.

After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every
nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the
throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes
and held palm branches in their hands. Revelation 7:9
