Note CiscoUnifiedCMEGUIfilesareversionspecificGUIfilesforoneversionofCiscoUnifiedCMEare

UnifiedCME,theGUIfilesfortheoldversionmustbeoverwrittenwithGUIfilesthatmatchtheCisco
UnifiedCMEversionthatisbeinginstalled.
PhoneFirmwareFiles
Phonefirmwarefilesprovidecodetoenablephonedisplaysandoperations.Thesefilesarespecialized
foreachphonetypeandprotocol,SIPorSCCP,andareperiodicallyrevised.Youmustbesuretohave
theappropriatephonefirmwarefilesforthetypesofphones,protocolbeingused,andCiscoUnifiedCME
versionatyoursite.
NewIPphonesareshippedfromCiscowithadefaultmanufacturingSCCPimage.WhenaIPphone
downloadsitsconfigurationprofile,thephonecomparesthephonefirmwarementionedinthe
configurationprofilewiththefirmwarealreadyinstalledonthephone.Ifthefirmwareversiondiffersfrom
theonethatiscurrentlyloadedonthephone,thephonecontactstheTFTPservertoupgradetothenew
phonefirmwareanddownloadsthenewfirmwarebeforeregisteringwithCiscoUnifiedCME.
Generally,phonefirmwarefilesareincludedintheCiscoUnifiedCMEsoftwarearchivethatyou
download.Theycanalsobepostedonthesoftwaredownloadwebsiteasindividualfilesorarchives.
EarlyversionsofCiscophonefirmwareforSCCPandSIPIPphoneshadfilenamesasfollows:
