Profile
Entertainment Technology undergraduate with skills across the music and technology areas,
keen pianist and confident user across various music and office software applications. The
course looks in detail at the various elements associated with the entertainment industry and
the technologies used within each of these mediums. Initial learning is given before a project at
the end of each unit. The projects vary from creating and managing a television show,
production and composition of music through to starting up and running a small business.
Not all areas of Entertainment require academic entry, however having this experience into the
way the industries are run, the standard software that is used and learning the key skills that
each of the areas involves, gives a vital head start when looking to gain a career in this field.
Skill Set
Using Cubase music production software to produce and compose my own music for
university units.
Experience with Sonar for producing tracks and Sony Sound Forge to manipulate single
wave media and alter various pre-recorded music.
Able to use Adobe Photoshop to a good level, also have introduction to Adobe Flash,
Dreamweaver and The Foundry’s Nuke.
Confident user of Office applications and the Internet.

Spent time with radio DJ Rob James grasping techniques on how to use the Studio.
Introduced me to the equipment so I would be able to do a show myself
Had an hour live broadcast as part of a group entitled ‘The youth’s of today’.
Learnt the basic structure to a television show and the key roles needed to produce one,
for example; Floor manager, camera operator, director, vision mixer.
Taught how to operate the cameras and set them up for filming, for example; white
spotting, focusing, rule of thirds
Taught how to use Audio desk and how to make sure all sound levels are correct and in
proportion, for example; microphone levels, insert audio levels, title music levels etc.
Studying the entertainment industry and acquiring skills from many areas within this including:
Sound recording, various flash animation units, business units, project management, television
production, virtual reality and web design.

Employment
Supervising and caring for children aged 5-11 at play centres during school holidays.
Care can either be on a one to one basis or being charge of areas or groups of up to 8
children.
Activities include: Sport, Craft, Table games, Cooking, Reading, Homework help and
Personal support.
Various chances to teach them music, especially piano/ keyboard.
Learnt many new skills; Patience with children, being able to work individually and as a
team, punctuality, taking responsibility over a situation, understanding disabilities and
how to adopt activities in accordance with this.
Interests
Enjoy playing the piano in my spare time and currently learning to read music and
complete the ABRSM grades.
Listening to the radio to grasp various techniques used by DJ’s
Clean Driving Licence held since February 2007.
Certified CRB check in relation to previous child work.
